Last time I went to the store, I spotted these doughnuts in flavors such as Hawaiian Punch, Orange Crush, and Dr Pepper. At first, I was curious and somewhat puzzled: Why would anyone think to pair soda flavors with doughnuts?

Ultimately I'm not sure what to think of this concept; I'm inclined to believe that food and beverage companies are running out of novelty ideas. Have you ever come across these doughnuts?

Let's Dish: What Are Your Guilty Pleasure Foods?

Whenever I interview chefs, I always ask: "What's your favorite guilty pleasure food?" Of course, my definition of "guilty pleasure" is quite different from, say, FitSugar's. I don't consider it a guilty pleasure if it's high in fat or calories; that is a mere pleasure.

No, I'm talking about the food that you don't want your foodie friends to know you eat, whether it's Totino's frozen pizza rolls or "cappuccino" from 7-Eleven. Obviously, I make no secret of the fact that I'll eat pretty much anything, so now it's time for you to 'fess up. What foods do you secretly adore?

Every food has its moment, and bacon's moment is now. Honestly, the salty indulgence is showing up everywhere: covered in chocolate, wrapped around hot dogs, and tucked inside pig-shaped candy. Now, thanks to Last Appetite, I've discovered my new favorite bacon creation: French fry-covered bacon on a stick. Would you dare to taste it?

Go on a Quest to Discover the New Doritos Flavor

Doritos recently announced a new flavor called The Quest, which is sold in a black package with the words "Guessing the Flavor Is Just the Beginning . . ." in bright green letters. As someone who's always up for a challenge, I decided to play the game. The chips look more like Cool Ranch Doritos than Nacho Cheese - and by that I mean they're not neon orange. In fact, they're more like yellow Fritos corn chips, but with a slightly green hue. The flavor was a bit of a mystery to me; they've definitely got more than a hint of lime and are slightly sweet. Our initial guess was Mango Chile Lime. However when I went to the website, I discovered it was incorrect.

The Doritos Quest website appears to be one long game. Sort of a fun marketing strategy if you think about it: Give customers an interesting new flavor and have them guess it. Once they guess it, they'll start down a larger quest that could win them $100,000. Pretty gimmicky, but you can't blame them for trying something new, can you?

What you can blame them for is creating a ridiculous chip flavor. Once you find out what it is, you'll probably end up liking them less. They're worth trying once, just for the novelty of it, but I won't be adding them to my roster.

If you've had them and absolutely can't figure it out - or if you're just curious and have to know - then I'll ruin the surprise when you read more.

Potato Snacks You Can Have Your Way

As soon as I saw these new snacks, I immediately notified all of my French Fry loving pals. After all, if they love french fries in ketchup, then surely they're going to love "Ketchup & French Fries" flavored potato snacks, right?

Junk food makers Inventure Group have partnered with fast food royalty Burger King by creating a new line of "flavored potato snacks." These snacks will be for sale in grocery stores vending machines, and eventually Burger King itself. Available in two flavors - fry-shaped Ketchup & Fries and chip-shaped Flame Broiled Burger - they will initially be offered in single-serving sizes (1-3 ounces) and later in 20 ounce bags.

There's something hypnotic about Burger King fries - I think I may just have to hunt these down to find out if they have the same appeal. Has anyone seen them around and if so, what do you think? Do they really taste like a flame broiled burger or ketchup & fries?

Pringles Stix Goes On Tour

Do you like Pringles? How about dip-able cracker sticks? Have you ever envisioned the two things together? If you answered yes to all three, then you're in for a treat. Starting next Spring, Pringles will rollout a new concept called Pringles Stix. The baked wheat crackers will come in four flavors: Crunchy Wheat, Vanilla, Honey Butter and Pizza - they'll also only contain 90 calories per pack. To announce the arrival of the newest member of their family, Pringles has combined forces with Nintendo and will tour seven cities. The tour will include free samples as well as a sneak peek of Boogie - a new game for the Wii. Oh and if free snacks weren't enough to entice you out of your house, then perhaps the chance to win a Wii Game Kit might. One kit - which includes a Wii console, a Boogie game, an extra Wii remote and 2000 Wii Points - will be given away at each city on the tour (Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Montgomery and Birmingham).

Personally, I'm feeling a little skeptical about these Pringles Stix. I have a special place in my belly for regular Pringles, but haven't been too impressed with their other lines.

Looks like Pringles is going to have to change their jingle. The "Once You Pop, You Can't Stop" might work for their well known cans, however you'll now be able to find them sold in bags. The newly bagged options are miniature in size and come in zany new flavors such as parmesan garlic, cinnamon sweet potato and Szechuan bbq rice crisps (their first foray into non-potato chip). The Pringles Minis come in a box of 5 and will set you back about $1.99. What do you think about the new Pringles?
