I love recipes and I enjoy following them precisely. Therefore, I use my measuring spoons and cups practically every time I cook. While I conveniently have two sets of measuring spoons, I only have one set of measuring cups. Since it's a hassle to constantly wash the cups, I simply want to get another set and I asked you to help me find it. You searched the Internet for stylish and compact measuring cups. Off to Market Recap: Casserole Dish

When I made lasagna, I was horrified to realize I don't own a large casserole dish. I ended up having to make the lasagna in two pie dishes. To avoid this situation in the future, I asked you to help me find a casserole dish. You headed off to market in search of a large, oven- and dishwasher-safe serving vessel that can hold everything from potato gratin to white chocolate brownies. Tyler Florence's 7 Kitchen Essentials

Yesterday, I dropped by a Macy's Culinary Council event to see Food Network star Tyler Florence. He was kicking off the tour for his two latest books, Stirring the Pot and Dinner at My Place. He talked to a packed audience about his recent move to California, his upcoming plans in the television, wine, and restaurant industries. My favorite part of the discussion, however, was when Tyler talked kitchen essentials.

"I can cook a meal on the top of a car in a junkyard," he declared. He believes anyone can cook with seven essential kitchen tools:

Skillet, for omelets and eggs
Saucepan, for soups and sauces
Larger pot for cooking steaks, tenderloin, and pork chops
Chef's knife, for cutting meat and vegetables
Paring knife, for cutting fruit and smaller items
Bread knife, with serrated edges
Cutting board, for all purposes

Not only were Tyler's tips helpful for those who are new to cooking, but he also demonstrated that one doesn't need to have a bunch of fancy tools to cook a fabulous meal. Are your kitchen essentials the same as Tyler's?

Let's Dish: What Spice Can You Not Live Without?

Although I have a large spice rack, I have a designated mise en place area for ingredients I use all the time. This includes seasonings like salt and pepper as well as my favorite spice, cumin. While we never cooked with it growing up - my mother hates the smell of it - I have grown to love it, and now I don't think I could live without it. It lends a certain earthy smokiness that no other spice can add, and I put it in everything from Indian-inspired salsas to house pickles.

Off to Market: Fruit Bowl

According to Tony Abou-Ganim, citrus fruit used to make cocktails should be kept at room temperature. However, a bunch of citrus fruit rolling around on the counter while I cook is not pretty. Thus, I've decided to invest in a fruit bowl to properly hold (and display) the citrus. Can you help me find the perfect bowl?
