A White Elephant is a type of gift exchange in which each guest is asked to bring an anonymous wrapped gift. Usually, there is a maximum amount of money that can be spent, and oftentimes the gifts are unpractical and eccentric. If you are attending a White Elephant party bring fun shaped ice cube trays. A set of Emeril's spices are hysterical and could provoke conversation about the future of Food Network. However, my favorite gift is this chicken kitchen timer. It's ten percent bizarre and 90 percent practical. I definitely wouldn't buy it for myself, but it would be fun to get at a White Elephant gift exchange.

Growing up, one of the best parts of Christmas morning was emptying the Christmas stocking. It was a great warm up for the stack of presents under the tree. A little while back, I told you about my godmother Terry who has spent the last 24 years of her life surrounded by men. Now that her boys have finally grown up and moved out, Terry has decided it's time to give her kitchen a feminine makeover. She wants to brighten up the kitchen with the color yellow. She called me and asked if I could suggest cool websites where she can purchase kitchen tools, gadgets, and linens in sunny yellow. Lucky for her, I had you search the web for mellow yellow kitchen supplies with a hint of femininity. I was really impressed and awed by how you filled up the Yum Market with stuff for a Yellow Kitchen. Here are a few of my personal picks:

Let's Dish: Top Chef 4.12 - Off to the Butchers

After last night's Top Chef we are finally down to the final four. However before we can head to Puerto Rico, we have to chat about the final elimination. Unlike some of the previous challenges, I was really excited to see the chefs in the kitchen. Watching them work in their natural environment was refreshing and fun, and seeing Chef Tom come help them was also exciting. So what did you think of it? Find out what I have to ask when you read more.

Did the quickfire make you nervous? I always get nervous when knives and timers mix.
When they were cooking the quickfire, what did you think of all the butter Antonia was basting her steak in?
Say what you want, but you have to admit that Spike's butchering skills did seem pretty impressive, no?
