I love cake and I love meat, so in theory I should love this meat cake. However something tells me it looks better than it actually tastes. What looks like a gorgeous traditional layer cake with a T-bone steak drawn on it is actually a cake made from meat. That's right, real meat. This three layer cake is made from ground beef, Worcestershire sauce with brown sugar & ketchup, and mashed potatoes. Pretty much, it's like a beautiful three-layer meatloaf. Antibiotics Worthless Against Most Sinus Infections, Study Says

When suffering from the pain and pressure of a sinus infection, getting a prescription for antibiotics becomes priority number one. New research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association put this practice into question. Hold onto your tissues folks - scientists found antibiotics don't ease patients' symptoms any faster than placebo pills.

The small study included 166 adults with sinus infections; half were given a 10-day treatment of amoxicillin, a common antibiotic, while the other half were given a placebo. After 10 days, 78 percent of those on antibiotics and 80 percent of those taking the placebo said they felt better or no longer had symptoms. That's because less than two percent of sinus infections are bacterial and require antibiotics to clear up.

Since sinus infections make patients so miserable, doctors often prescribe antibiotics even when they aren't sure if the infection is viral or bacterial. If it's viral, the drugs won't help a lick, and the over-prescribing of antibiotics is contributing to the evolution of drug-resistant bacteria. Antibiotics should only be used when symptoms last over 10 days with no signs of improvement, or are accompanied by a fever.

Glee-ful Highlights From Episode "Heart"

It's Valentine's Day at McKinley, and everyone gets in on the action in this week's episode of Glee. For the lesson, Mr. Schuester wants everyone to choose a great love song to perform, which means a lot of the action takes place in the relationship department. Finn and Rachel try to get everyone excited about their upcoming nuptials; Brittany and Santana deal with scrutiny of the nature of their relationship, and Mercedes and Sam may love each other, but they just can't seem to get it together.

At first, I was pretty excited that "Heart" was going to be an episode full of musical numbers, but it feels a little plot driven for my taste. Regardless, there's a lot happened this week, so get in on all details after the jump.
