Honoring the Half Shell at San Francisco's Oyster Fest
Over the weekend, I found myself at San Francisco's Oyster Fest an annual event that brings partygoers together with Guinness, live music from Michael Franti and Spearhead, and, of course, oysters in every shape and form. The event took place on a sunny Saturday at a park overlooking the bay, with Drakes Bay Family Farms educating festivalgoers about oyster farming, oyster-shucking demonstrations and a suck-and-shuck contest.

How to Shuck an Oyster
Last weekend I was lucky enough to spend the sunny Saturday enjoying beer and fresh shucked oysters at San Francisco's OysterFest. Hosted by O'Reilly's Productions, the event — that featured several bands like Juliette and the Licks — drew more than 15,000 people. I spent part of the afternoon at the "Oyster Information Center" where I learned how to shuck an oyster.

There are so many in the Bay Area alone that I can't decide whether to hit up the Santana Row Pear Festival, the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival, or the Monterey Wine Festival. I suppose I might just rock them all!
