I consider myself a party chameleon; I can have fabulous fun at any party from a hippie hangout in the Berkeley hills to a swanky soirée on a Manhattan rooftop. I apply the same open-minded mentality to cocktails. While there is a time and place for a whiskey-laced Sazerac, there is also a suitable occasion for this frilly pink concoction.

I grew up in a fruit-forward household, so I'm intrigued whenever I come across a variety I don't recognize. So when I found an article about mythical-sounding fruits called tayberries, I knew I needed to try them for myself. At all of my dinner parties, I offer guests one signature cocktail with appetizers, followed by a couple bottles of wine with dinner. I am a fan of a full open bar and pleasing my friends with whatever drink floats their fancy, but I do this when a small group is coming over for drinks only. At a dinner party, there are other things to worry about - the food, the mingling of new friends with old, etc.

What would the world of girlie drinks be like without Sex and the City? Besides cosmopolitans and flirtinis, the uber-popular television series also gave birth to the tartini. The tartini is a combination of the cosmo and the flirtini because it takes components from both cocktails.

One of my favorite movies of all time is The Goonies. So when I saw that there was a drink called "The Goonie," I knew it was something I would have to try. I'm not really sure why it's called that (if anyone has any idea, let me know), but it sounds great.
