It's one thing to say you'll try any sort of food, but another entirely to truly follow through on your promise. That's why, right before an eight-course gourmet bug tasting this week, I started bugging out over it. If I screamed when I saw insects in my apartment, how was I going to bring myself to eat them?

If you prefer to entertain this season with dainty, bite-sized desserts like these pumpkin brownies, chances are, you'd also flip for the small, custardy French pastry, flavored with rum and vanilla, pictured below. Can you identify it?

Mel's Drive-In, a restaurant chain in California, made news this week when a PR firm uncovered the diner's "virtual bribe" — or a deal for Yelpers. However, the wait ended up being two hours on a Wednesday night!
