Recently reader FinnLover traveled to the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. While visiting the vast city, she spent one Saturday night hitting up Little India's weekly street market. With its incredible diversity — there are stalls that serve Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Western, and Indonesian cuisine — Finn describes the event as the "biggest food celebration ever."

Be it Eritrean cooking or Colombian cuisine, I'm obsessed with trying new foods from around the world. I'm sad to say I haven't made it to any Scandinavian countries yet — but thanks to FinnLover, I'm dying to go now. During a recent trip to visit her husband's family in Finland, she ate her way through a number of Finnish specialties, like Ruisleipä, or black rye bread, shown above.

Suffice it to say we've been obsessed with everything eggs, as evidenced by everything from breakfast tarts to our search for stylish Easter egg cups. The eggcellent endeavor has yet to end: I flipped for this eggy, cheesy vegetable quiche that staff member Garrick made over the weekend. I love quiche to begin with — but it's the baked-til-crisp potato hash crust that I've completely fallen for.

I'd almost (key word: almost) forgotten about Party's unbelievable pumpkin cake with pecan brittle and whipped cream cheese frosting when I received a private message from TeamSugar member BisouBisou with jaw-dropping photos of her own rendition, which she made for Thanksgiving as a dessert. Seeing the exquisite cake and the lush photography made me fall in love with the cake all over again. Isn't it amazing how images can do such a thing?

Although, I often draw inspiration from chefs and cookbooks, I get a ton of ideas simply from browsing TeamSugar. I know I'm not alone: Not too long ago, FinnLover wrote about all the reader recipes she's tried over the last several months. Not only did many recipes (like Twinkle's Tomato and Avocado Salsa above) become part of her new cooking repertoire, but making them also sparked her creativity.

In case you haven't noticed, I am fanatical about sandwiches, which is why I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I came across the pictures that FinnLover posted in Twinkle's Kitchen Goddess group of smørbrød: Scandinavian open-faced sandwiches.
Norwegian for "butter bread," these smørbrød sandwiches are everywhere in her current home of Bergen, Norway. "People eat them for breakfast, lunch, and at night before going to bed," she says.

Depending on how much you like seafood, fresh-fish markets can be near paradise or unpleasantly stinky. Since I love just about any kind of ocean bounty, especially when it's fresh, I'm drooling over the photos of the Bergen, Norway, fish market that FinnLover recently posted in my Savory Sights group.
This was FinnLover's first visit to her new hometown fish market, which features live fish, high-end seafood dishes, and everything in between.
