Most of you were appalled by the increase in budget beer sales and many or you prefer to drink local microbrews, so I thought I would bring attention to an interesting website created by the Brewer's Association. Seasonal Beer Throughout the Year is your resource for limited-edition, seasonal craft brews. A seasonal beer is a special style of beer, sometimes with flavors like pumpkin, made for a certain time of year.

Although this delectable chicken looks like he's running away, he's actually perched atop a beer can! Grilling chicken on an aluminum can is an excellent way to ensure that the meat stays moist and succulent. While it cooks, the beer evaporates and flavors the chicken's inside cavity.

I was curious about the unfamiliar label, and couldn't wait to give Samuel Smith's signature strawberry beer a taste.

Although one normally thinks of pairing a burger or hot dog with an ice cold beer, when grilling other meats, like tri tip, chicken, or pork, don't be afraid to pour wine. When selecting a wine, take into consideration the meat's type of sauce (is it spicy, sweet, herby, etc.?) or seasoning.
I recently enjoyed this 2004 red Bordeaux ($27), by Château Clarke, with grilled boneless pork ribs.

"Would you like to see the beer list?" may sound like a silly question, until you realize how serious some restaurants are taking their beer selections these days. I recently had dinner at a restaurant in San Francisco called The Monk's Kettle, which actually suggests beer pairings alongside its entrees.
