Although I have a love/hate relationship with it, I like to serve the rich, creamy sauce in a delightful little pourer. Unfortunately the one at my parents' house is straight out of the '70s and is far from delightful. Thanksgiving is just four days away, so I need your help now! Party Foul: Serving Drinks in Incorrect Glasses

I recently attended a very crowded party where the caterers ran out of clean serving glasses. When I went to order a second beer, the bartender — to my dismay — poured it into a champagne flute. I looked around the event and noticed chicly dressed PYTs sipping champagne from brandy snifters and white wine from whiskey tumblers!

I love fun glasses as much as the next party gal, but because wine glasses actually enhance and affect the flavor of wine, wine should be served in appropriate glassware. I think the staff should have either washed more glasses or served beer in water glasses and wine in small table glasses.

What do you think? Is it a party no-no to pour drinks into incorrect glassware?

The Bend Fruit Bowl: Love It Or Hate It?

What do you guys think of this interesting, wooden fruit bowl that tdamji recently bookmarked? It's made out of a single piece of birch plywood that can bend to make several different shaped bowls. According to Tdamji, it's both stylish and eco friendly at the same time! I also love how you can change it up. One day it can be inverse and the next day reverse. Imagine all the fun centerpieces you could make. The only thing I'm not sure about is its size. Yum Market Finds: Playful Plates

A few days ago, YumSugar wanted to know what you thought of a set of scenic dinner plates, since then they kept coming to mind, especially while looking through the Yum Market. It seems that she's not the only one who found playful plates. While I wouldn't recommend any of these for everyday use, they would be perfect for a certain dinner or special event. I especially like these Parisian plates that dixierain68 bookmarked. Can't you imagine juicy stuffed roasted tomatoes on these plates? What about the others? What foods do you visualize when you see the plates below?

Like a true fashionista with clothes, a hostess with the mostess can never have too many appetizer serving trays.
