Last Wednesday night the Sugar Network hosted a private screening of Sex and the City. Naturally the movie was followed by a fabulous fete. The Sugar Sex and the City After Party

Wednesday night was huge for us here at Sugar headquarters: we hosted a private screening of the Sex and the City movie! The extravaganza involved glamorous outfits, gorgeous looks, a plush red carpet, and a fantastic after party.

The event was held at a gutted-out, old Limited Store in the Embarcadero Center. Naturally, I helped transform the space to make it suitable for the Sugar party. To see the setting up process of the fiesta, watch the video below.

Sex and the City Foodie Preview

Earlier this week we paid tribute to the food trends established by the series Sex and the City. Before the show, brunch had never seemed so glamorous and the only thing served in a martini glass was a martini. Like the series, the movie will most likely change the way we eat and drink. Off to Market Recap: Martini Glasses

Since Sex and the City comes out in two days, I thought it was the perfect time to shop for martini glasses. To enjoy cosmopolitans and flirtinis in the proper servingware, you headed off to market in search of new martini glasses. You looked for chic, stylish glasses that would be found in the hands of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte. You saved the stemware in the Yum Market on TeamSugar with the keyword tag martini glasses. While the leopard-print glasses are stunning and would be perfect for a jungle-themed fete, I might get sick of the print.

However, I won't tire of these rosy-stemmed martini glasses because pink is my favorite color. Fabulous find, fashionista119! For more martini glasses, scroll to the right below.

We are so thrilled to announce that Sugar user carriefrances will be joining us tomorrow night at the Sugar exclusive screening of Sex and the City! The longtime user is a HUGE SATC fan, and we could not be more excited to meet her and shower her with gifts and a fabulous party among friends.

How Sex and the City Changed the Food World

The incredible influence that Sex and the City had on my life is utterly undeniable. While it not only changed the way I dressed and looked at men, it also changed the way I ate, drank, and partied. From cupcakes to cosmos, the show was responsible for creating major food trends. The movie - which comes out on Friday! - will most likely be the same. Happy Hour: Tartini

What would the world of girlie drinks be like without Sex and the City? Besides cosmopolitans and flirtinis, the uber-popular television series also gave birth to the tartini. The tartini is a combination of the cosmo and the flirtini because it takes components from both cocktails.

While there are lots of different recipes out there, this is the one I like to use. If you don't want to open an entire bottle of champagne to top off two drinks, use a sparkling substitute like Juice Squeeze Mountain Raspberry. It gives the drink a slight fizz without changing the flavor. For the recipe please read more.

Tartini
Modified From Recipe Zaar

Ingredients

1 fluid ounce berry vodka
1/2 fluid ounce orange liqueur
1/2 fluid ounce pineapple juice
1/2 fluid ounce cranberry juice
juice from half a lime
Champagne*

Directions

Combine the raspberry vodka, cointreau, pineapple juice, cranberry juice, and lime juice in a shaker.
Shake well for 45 seconds to form ice crystals.
Strain into a glass and top with a splash of Champagne

Makes 1 cocktail.

*If you don't want to open an entire bottle of Champagne for just a splash, use a sparkling substitute like Juice Squeeze Mountain Raspberry.

Happy Hour: Flirtini

Besides cosmopolitans, Fab and I offered guests Flirtinis at our Sex and the City Marathon. Like the cosmo, a Flirtini is a cocktail that was featured on an episode of the show. The Flirtini also happens to be Danny's signature drink, and he has making them down to a science. Luckily he taught me the technique for this simple, stylish cocktail that combines pineapple juice, vodka, and Champagne. He recommends chilling the three ingredients hours before mixing the drink. Flirtini
From Drink of the Week

Ingredients

1 oz. Vodka
2 oz. Champagne
2 oz. Pineapple Juice

Directions
Combine vodka, Champagne, and pineapple juice in a highball or collins glass filled with ice. For a party multiply recipe and mix in a pitcher.

Makes 1 cocktail.
