While seafood gumbo is a classic dish native to New Orleans, to celebrate Fat Tuesday tonight, why not make another favorite with origins in the South? The traditional shrimp and grits gets a quick and modern makeover in this wonderful recipe. Instant polenta replaces the grits, and the addition of pancetta adds a porky goodness to the flavorful sauce.

One of my favorite dishes of all time is a simple Spanish tapa known as gambas al ajillo, or garlic shrimp. It's served all over Spain and consists of sizzling shrimp in a fragrant and slightly spicy olive oil and garlic sauce. When I came across this recipe for pasta with garlic shrimp, I knew I had to give it a try.

Yet another Valentine's Day where I celebrate solo. Instead of being bummed about not having a boy toy, I'm doing what I do best: hosting a dinner party! Luckily, Chinese New Year happens to fall on Valentine's Day, so I'm inviting a select group of single friends to join me for a Chinese-inspired feast.

When I think of a game day, it always involves food sensations. The scent of bacon wafting through the air, the sticky fingers that require licking clean, the lingering heat from a spicy sauce that causes lips to tingle. A dish that exemplifies these sentiments?

I'm a huge fan of Ina Garten. I love her fresh takes on basic classics and find that her recipes are incredibly reliable. Recently I made her roasted shrimp cocktail.

If you're looking for a departure from chicken or fish that's healthy, quick-cooking, and inexpensive, then turn to leftover frozen shrimp. Not only is it juicy and flavorful, but it's incredibly low-maintenance (no deveining or peeling required!), and much more affordable than fresh shellfish.
Rather than make the standby shrimp stir-fry over rice, throw together an überquick skillet toss that's truly different, with browned potato pieces, scallions, and curry powder.

It's been cold and wet outdoors this weekend, so tonight I'm going to indulge myself by making a gorgeous savory pastry that takes inspiration from French country cooking, the Mediterranean, and the fruits of the sea.
I don't plan on toiling over a crust from scratch. Instead, I'll parbake some store-bought pie dough, then fill the tart with a sumptuous filling of shrimp, feta, and roasted red peppers.

As much as I love talking and thinking about Thanksgiving, sometimes it's nice to take a quick break from the all-American feast and enjoy a simple Asian-inspired meal.
In this recipe, shrimp is combined with a gingery soy sauce, chunks of red pepper, and slivers of green onions. Served on a bed of rice, it makes for a light and flavorful alternative to the season's plethora of comfort foods.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love dips! I'm kinda obsessed with making them and even more addicted to trying out new recipes. A couple of weeks ago when I was browsing the Macy's Come Together recipe section, I came across this interesting recipe for shrimp dip.
