Looks like Burger King isn't the only food brand that toes the line between cutting-edge and crass. PepsiCo, the maker of new energy drink Amp, has gotten flack for its latest iPhone launch.
"Amp Up Before You Score" is a free iPhone application that offers young men pointers on how to get in bed with 24 different types of women.

Food Network host Paula Deen appeared on The View this week to promote her new children's cookbook. Those who caught it know that it wasn't pretty to watch. Put the sassy Paula Deen and the straight-laced Barbara Walters together, and you get an uncomfortable dynamic.

If you were shocked by Audrina Partridge and Padma Lakshmi's lascivious Carl's Jr. commercials, then wait until you see what the company's up to now. Hardee's, the sister brand to Carl's Jr., has debuted "Biscuit Holes," deep-fried, doughnut hole-shaped biscuits that are iced with cinnamon sugar. In addition to shooting the breeze with Top Chef's latest winner, Hosea Rosenberg, PartySugar and I also had the opportunity to catch up with Hosea's close pal, previous TC champ Stephanie Izard.

Oprah's KFC promotion for a free Kentucky Grilled Chicken meal has not only caused a lot of controversy, but sky-high demand also has KFC stores across the country turning away customers. In response, KFC president Rogert Eaton has taken a strikingly similar approach to Domino's by issuing an apology to patrons via YouTube. In exchange for the inconvenience customers have gone through, Eaton offers a raincheck for a grilled chicken meal, plus a free Pepsi.

A Warren, MI, pizzeria is exchanging free pizza in return for McCain campaign signs.
"Turn in your sign, get some free food," offers Diana Franzoni, owner of Salvatore's Pizzeria, the restaurant giving away the pizza. Still seething over the fact that McCain pulled out of the battleground state, she contends: "McCain gave up on Michigan, so you should give up on him."
