This contraption was created by New Zealander Joseph Herscher, who is known for his other Rube Goldberg-style machine, the chocolate egg creamer.

Pizza Hut has caused an uproar with the launch of a new viral advertising campaign. "Kicked Out of a Pizza Place," a video produced by Mediocre Films, has gotten 198,135 views on YouTube since it was posted less than five days ago. The fast food corporation is piggybacking on the success of other chains' attempt at viral videos, such as competitor Wendy's MySpace video, "Crazy Lettuce".

In a controversial move, condiment king Heinz has pulled a UK television commercial from the air. Viewers complained that the commercial — which features a single-sex parental relationship — was inappropriate and unsuitable. Nigel Dickie, a spokesman for Heinz, explains why the ad will no longer be aired: It is our policy to listen to consumers.

"Everything on your plate is corn." That line, uttered by an interviewee in King Corn, is essentially the premise behind this new food-focused documentary. Much the way that Super Size Me uses a clever gimmick to take on the fast-food industry, King Corn follows two friends, Ian Cheney and Kurt Ellis, who move to Iowa to find out how this unassuming crop has made its way into so many grocery-store staples in the form of corn syrup, malodextrin, and other not-so-healthy ingredients.
