I don't know if there's still time to hire a caterer or book a band, but state authorities have
just announced that June 17 is the first day same-sex marriages will be officiated in California. The announcement comes two weeks after the state Supreme Court rejected a ban on gay marriage.
How will it work?

Every time I check out the
Yum Market, I always end up looking at
serenityspeaks' bookmarks. She has lovingly hunted down tons of
wedding cakes, and even grouped them by color.
I'm rather fond of this incredibly unique
tiered cake with citrus accompaniments, but if it doesn't suit you scroll through her impressive list below.

I'm always on the hunt for flashy products to let your
pets get in on the wedding action! Now
the bling may not be for every gal's pooch, but I know my heart flutters at the sight of the trademark
Tiffany & Co. box. Sooo, why not treat an equally lucky pup to a matching
lil blue satin harness ($35) for a
future ring bearer to don during the ceremony and a
Sniffany & Co.

Not that it should be thought of as a trend, but it's clear that this is the year that people are finally paying attention to how they can
green their weddings and cut down on the event's impact on the environment. And if it is a trend, let's hope that it stays "in" forever!
So today's wedding geek tip succeeds in being green, geeky, and creative: seed packets with you and your fiancé's face on them!

Brides beware, the boys are back in town! We showed you
flower girl dresses, but now it's time to outfit the dapper darlings that will attend the wedding. And, the mini men don't need to suffer stiff lil tuxedos as there are a number of options for boys that are bound to steal the show!

If you're anything like me, you like to keep a firm hold on the reigns when it comes to planning and organizing events. Like the saying goes, if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself! Although I have nothing against professional wedding planners, I personally would want to know what is going on behind the scenes at all times — especially when it's an event as big as my wedding.

This
2008 Essie Bridal Collection is just the type of classical peachy, white and muted
pale pink polish range that I like to see from time to time. For those of you blushing brides who are interested in attaining the
quintessential French manicure, or, for the rest of you who are just looking to paint on a neutral nail, you'll be on Cloud Nine with these colors. My bets are on Happily Ever After on becoming the next cult color, but I'm partial to No Pre-Nup (wink) — how about you?

Maybe you've seen 'em, maybe you haven't, but there is no denying the wow factor you get from these geeky wedding cakes. Although most of you said that
you would go the traditional route, banning all Mario cakes for your nuptials, it's still just so refreshing to see peoples' true (geeky) colors shine through on the big day.
I've featured a few of these cakes already, and some were hidden gems in the vast space of the internet.

If you've ever planned a
wedding, are currently planning a wedding, or have watched any shows about celebrity weddings, then you probably recognize the name of celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss. The petite brunette, who has worked with Gwen Stefani and Eva Longoria Parker, has paired up with
Piperlime to offer genius shoe advice to bride-to-bes. She suggests buying two types of footwear for your big day: a fantasy shoe and a reality shoe.

As the big day nears, there comes a time to make sure your furry family approves of your fiancé! While dogs most likely meet people on daily walks, kitties may be used to your undivided attention at home . .
