Yesterday marked day one of the 2007 San Francisco Winter Fancy Foods Show (I'll be spotlighting my favorite finds throughout the week).
And although I'm not a morning person, I somehow managed to get my butt in gear in order to be seated for the 8:30am keynote by Eric Schlosser (author of Fast Food Nation).

Each year, the Fancy Foods Show — which showcases all the newest, latest food products on the market — promises to be a roller coaster ride on the stomach. I was beginning to think 2010 was tame in comparison to previous years — until I found an assortment of cheeses from the UK that came in flavors such as apple pie and sticky toffee. As someone who's usually underwhelmed by cheesecake, the idea of sweet cheese doesn't really appeal to me.

As soon as we departed from the culinary wonderland that is Chefs' Holidays, it was back to the hustle and bustle of the city — and the annual Winter Fancy Foods Show.
Despite our hectic schedule, we made time to discuss the merits of wild game, debate over kid foodies, and question whether a dishwasher is truly necessary. Did you pay attention?

This week was off to a good start with an extensive tasting at 2010's Winter Fancy Foods Show. But I must admit, walking around eating everything from chocolate to caviar was exhausting.
Midday, we were sampling some serious chili sauce from Indonesia.
