Okay, if you ask me to think of a geek, I immediately think of Alton Brown. He's the epitome of geek and bonus he cooks too!
You either love him or hate him, but if you watch you'll definitely learn a thing or two.

After seeing Alton Brown's "Crepe Expectations" episode the other night, I promised my hubby I would try making crepes this morning. I made the "sweet" variation, but omitted the flavored liqueur because I don't have any :) Filled with strawberries and topped with cool whip - yum!
Easter crepes
2 large eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons melted butter
Butter, for coating the pan
In a blender, combine all of the ingredients and pulse for 10 seconds.

Okay, I'll confess: I'm domestically challenged.
In the land of Martha Stewart, I'm the kid with the pink helmet sitting in the back of the short bus.
So, mostly for my benefit, let's all share our favorite tricks for holiday meal preparation.

EDIT: It would appear that my little cupcake madness has been popping up all over the net! That being said, there are comments and emails GALORE about them, 99% positive and the rest questions and critiques.
So here is my Edit.

For my pirate movie night tonight I made these, spiced rum and chocolate cupcakes with carmel cream frosting.
For the cake, I used the recipe here
http://busycooks.about.com/od/cakerecipes/r/easyrumcake.htm
I didn't make the glaze the in the recipe, and I used chocolate pudding instead of banana.
The frosting is made like you would make cream cheese frosting, but I used BelGioioso Dolce Mascarpone instead of cream cheese.

I might be cheating, because I couldn't narrow it down to any less than twelve. It was hard enough bumping Jennifer Garner and Dan Akroyd off the list, I couldn't bear to get rid of Seth Green.
