Hi, so I'm new to this site. I'm in university and I've been dating my boyfriend who's a couple years older for 5 months now. Our 5 month mark just rolled around recently and I've made it clear to him plenty of times that I love to do romantic things Well, he didn't get me flowers or anything for the 5 month, I made him a cake and cupcakes for his apartment. And then when I suggested (notice how it was me and not him by the way) we go out to dinner I had to pay for my half of it-he hasn't actually taken me out to dinner since 2 months before that. I know I'm old fashioned (and some women on this blog will take issue with that) but these little things add up with me and now I'm frustrated. I don't want to sound like a broken record when I try and tell him that I love when he does the little things for me (since I hint and tell him all the time-I actually even told him I'd like flowers for our 5month) but I don't really know what else to do. I'm kind of getting annoyed with him. Does anyone have any advice?

From April until June this year I did my summer internship in the events department at exchange4media. I was quite unhappy to be working in Delhi in the hot summer so I was already off to a bad start. Now that I think back though, it was a trip marked by some very memorable moments.

Help!
We are getting ready to do a joint celebration of my parent's birthdays next weekend. I am going to attempt to make a birthday cake that pleases them both. Problem is, my dad likes chocolate cake while my mom likes a plain ole white cake.
And I am in dire need of a cook buttercream recipe that doesn't use shortening.

The argument over whether same-sex couples should marry in the District is about a decade past its expiration date. The reality of people's lives long ago outstripped the usefulness of the gay marriage debate.
You can go to just about any public space in this city today and see same-sex couples: Two women picking over the tomatoes at the Anacostia farmers market; two men taking notes at a PTA meeting on Capitol Hill; two women arguing in a Georgetown restaurant over who does the dishes and who pays the bills -- the things all married couples do.
