Today's recipe comes with a little spice to it - one of my absolute favorite things. I've never been one of those girls who likes bland cooking. In my little world, the spicier, the better!

Washington has offered to resume talks on legal immigration by Cubans to the US, the US state department says. It says the move aims to "reaffirm both sides' commitment to safe, legal and orderly migration". The talks were halted in 2003 after Havana refused to give exit permits to people who had been granted US visas.

Break out the Bordeaux, the whoopee cushions and the bangin' Keith Richards guitar solos, because the 2009 Sexiest Man Alive party is officially under way. Bringing the fun with him wherever he goes – whether it's onscreen in fizzy roles like Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise or at home with his family on their private Bahamian island – is just one reason why Johnny Depp, who also scored the honor in 2003, has joined an elite club of two-time SMA title holders (only Brad Pitt and George Clooney have matched the feat). At 46, the father of two still reigns as Hollywood's most irresistible iconoclast; as one-of-a-kind as his beloved 15-year-old boots and as smoldering as his favorite Cuban cigars.

Last night I was inspired by JessNess's blog "What's Your Background," and Whiplashgirlchild's Jewish Recipes. So I'd like to share one of my favorite Cuban main dishes with you all. The results is a mouth-watering shredded beef dish with lots of bursting flavors.

ESPN.com is reporting that a deal sending New Jersey Nets Point Guard Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks is "imminent."
Dallas is believed to be offering Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSegana Diop, Devean George and possibly another player along with cash and future draft considerations. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban had denied his team was interested in sacrificing that much for one player.

Here's another Cuban dish I'd love to share with you all and LisaK ;)
It compliments a side of white rice along with any meat. Typically, black beans are made with a package of dry beans, boiled and soaked for an hour, sometimes you can use a ham bone for flavor, BUT most of us want something that’s quicker, so here’s my version.
Ingredients
Ingredients
1 can black beans
3 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed (or use minced garlic)
A quarter of sweet onion, peeled and chopped
1 Half bell pepper, chopped
3-4 strips of bacon, chopped
3 teaspoons ground cumin
Small handful of chopped cilantro (cut off stems, and only use leaves)
Small handful of chopped parsley (cut off stems, and only use leaves)
1 teaspoon of Adobo powder (shown in picture)
salt and pepper to taste
In a medium sauce pan, add the chopped bacon bits and fry.

But not for Cubans. The Miami Herald reports that Cuban blogger Yaoni Sanchez, one of Time's "heroes and pioneers" of 2008, was beaten and detained by the secret police, though fails to mention that her free health care will cover all injures sustained.

A dissident Cuban blogger cannot go to New York to receive a top journalism prize, after the authorities upheld a ban on her travel abroad. Yoani Sanchez, 34, won the Maria Moors Cabot Prize for Generacion Y, a blog critical of Cuba's one-party Communist government. The prize is the oldest international award in journalism.

Actress Milla Jovovich married director Paul W.S. Anderson in an intimate outdoor ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed. The bride, 33, wore a '60's-style mini dress she designed herself as she walked down the aisle in the backyard of the couple's Spanish-style house, decorated with red and white floral arrangements.
