Okay...so hubby finally downloaded and emailed me pics from a dinner last week...so now I get to share! :-)
We did a spicy rubbed stead and sliced it. I rubbed it with some cumin, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, dried onion and chili powder.

OK girls. I tried to find two easy and healthy recipes that are great for the summer. I thought that a fish dish would be awesome and you can't go wrong with a good steak on the BBQ.

My mother is a reader of Woman's Day Magazine (whose recipes I usually love) and she passed on these 2 ingredient recipe cards to me. Sure, some of them are a little odd and I will probably never, ever attempt, but there were a few that immediately grabbed my attention and I can't wait to try out! (Pineapple with coconut sorbet...)
If you want the actually cards to print out and some additional ideas: http://www.womansday.com/food/6577/2-ingredient-recipe-cards.html, http://www.womansday.com/food/6373/none.html
Appetizers
Marinate mixed olives (jar) with freshly grated peel and juice from 1 lemon in refrigerator at least 24 hours.

I'm in need of help regarding American food.
For English, we're gonna have a culture week, my group chose the USA.
So were going to need a lot of all American foods for people to eat and enjoy.

Just last week I was in Las Vegas where I had the chance to visit Mesa Grill (in Caesar's) once again. Im a fan of Bobby Flay and love his grilled foods. As a result, my second trip to Mesa with my bf did not disappoint:
Blue Corn Cornbread Muffins and Italian Sourdough Bread -- the cornbread was our fave
Rough Cut Raw Tuna Nachos with Mango Hot Sauce and Avocado Crema -- so incredibly delicious and fresh, the kick of cilantro was great
Crispy Squash Blossoms Filled with Ricotta Cheese, Corn, Basil, and a
Yellow Habanero Sauce -- a very elegant starter that paired nicely with the sauce
Spice Crusted Swordfish Steak with Charred Jalapeno-Basil Vinaigrette -- this was the bf's and it was very, very good
21-Day Aged Black Angus New York Strip Steak with House-Made Mesa Steak Sauce -- cooked perfectly and very tasty, although I wasnt a fan of the steak sauce (but then again I dont like A1)
Side of Roasted Corn with Lime, Chipotle, and Cotija -- unbelievably delicious, the lime was such a good complement to the roasted corn
Warm Chocolate Cake, Dulce de Leche, and Toasted Pecan Ice Cream Served on a French Macaroon -- a very sinfully delicious lava cake, but not too much dulce de leche (which tasted more like nutmeg juice than anything), so I was sad
Mesa Fresca with Sauza Hornitos Tequila and Grapefruit Soda -- I wanted to try this last time, and it is quite refreshing!

Memorial Day signals the official start of backyard barbecues. If you’ve got to splurge on a burger, make it a healthy one, like this Southwestern Burger. The lean protein satisfies and the salsa adds fiber.

Mitch Hedberg is my favorite comedian of all time. His style (random non-sequiturs) reminded me of old-school Stephen Wright.
Hedberg sadly died in March of 2005 of a drug overdose.

ArepaAREPA (corn cakes)
The *arepa (ah-ray-pah; with the accent on the middle syllable) is the local equivalent of a hamburger and is sold in shops called an *arepera (ah-ray-pay-rah; with the accent on the third syllable). The arepas are cooked fresh. The buyer looks in a cafeteria type hot table to choose the filling s/he desires.

More restaurants offering gluten-free menus
Increasing awareness of people with incurable wheat allergies
AP News
NEW YORK - As a longtime chef in four-star restaurants, Joseph Pace had seen appreciative customers before. But nothing prepared him for the day that a well-dressed man walked into his Greenwich Village restaurant, ordered a pizza and a beer, and broke into tears.
That man, Pace recalls, had been diagnosed ten years earlier with celiac disease — an incurable affliction that makes the body unable to take anything containing gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye.
