JEBALIYA, Gaza Strip – Surrounded by mountains of rubble that were once their homes, two dozen children sat on a rainbow-colored blanket and drew with crayons.
They quickly filled the pages passed around by trauma counselors with pictures of Israeli tanks, dead bodies and Palestinians firing assault rifles — scenes they saw when Israel's war on Hamas came into their neighborhood.
"We felt we will die soon," 11-year-old Sharif Abed Rabbo told the group, describing his family's escape.

A German court approved Hamas flags at anti-Israel protests this week.
The Jerusalem Post and ROP reported:
A court in the German capital struck down an administrative ban on Hamas flags, clothing and banners on Friday, but left in place the ban on invoking Hamas Foreign Minister Mahmoud Zahar's call to murder Israeli children worldwide.
The decision paved the way for supporters of the Islamist movement to march in anti-Israeli rallies on Saturday with pro-Hamas paraphernalia.

JERUSALEM - Israel's powerful foreign minister Thursday said he would tell a visiting U.S. Middle East envoy that there was no chance of reaching a comprehensive peace deal with the Palestinians for many years.
Peacemaking policy in Israel is decided by the prime minister's office, and not the foreign ministry.

Aussies under fire in cruise ship attack

Six pirates armed with high-powered AK-47s sped towards the cruise ship Melody, as it sailed from the Seychelles Islands to the Italian city of Genoa Sunday.
The ship's Israeli-hired security guards exchanged gunfire with the pirates as crew ordered passengers to clear the decks and shelter in their cabins.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) raised an Israeli flag for the first time this week in recognition of an Israeli delegation attending an international energy convention, the Foreign Ministry said Thursday.
Israeli representatives Simona Halperin, of the Foreign Ministry, and Dr. Avraham Arbiv from the Ministry of National Infrastructures, sat under the flag while participating in the committee meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

Earlier this year Meir Dagan, Mossad’s director since 2002, held secret talks with Saudi officials to discuss the possibility.
The Israeli press has already carried unconfirmed reports that high-ranking officials, including Ehud Olmert, the former prime minister, held meetings with Saudi colleagues.
