Much thanks to Lt Colonel Allen West, who sent this to me erev Yom Kippur. Like Sarah Palin, West is a ganser mensch. A leader in the mold of Churchill and Patton.

http://www.lepoint.fr/actualites-medias/info-le-point-fr-en-reponse-au-pape-france-2-habille-la-messe-aux/1253/0/327373
Le Point reports that in repsonse to Pope Benedict XVI's naïve and dangerous assertions about HIV/AIDS in Africa, all religious broadcasts on France 2, one of the major broadcast networks in France, will have the logo of Sidaction, the nation's leading HIV/AIDS charitable foundation, superimposed on them. Beginning on March 20, eleven television networks (including TF1, M6, Canal+, Arte, W9, and LCI) and five radio networks (RTL, Europe 1, France Inter, France Bleu, and France Info) will broadcast requests for donations to Sidaction. Pledges will be accepted by telephone, by Internet, and by text through March 22.

Only 7 swine flu deaths, not 152, says WHO
A member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.
Vivienne Allan, from WHO's patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths - all in Mexico - and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.
"Unfortunately that [150-plus deaths] is incorrect information and it does happen, but that's not information that's come from the World Health Organisation," Ms Allan told ABC Radio today.

Barack Obama fails to win Nato troops he wants for Afghanistan
Michael Evans and David Charter in Strasbourg (Times on line, UK edition)
Barack Obama made an impassioned plea to America’s allies to send more troops to Afghanistan, warning that failure to do so would leave Europe vulnerable to more terrorist atrocities.
But though he continued to dazzle Europeans on his debut international tour, the Continent’s leaders turned their backs on the US President.
Gordon Brown was the only one to offer substantial help.

One of President Obama's first official acts was to grant an interview to Al Arabiya, the Arabic language network that broadcasts worldwide. It signified, aides explained, the new page that Obama meant to turn in relations with the Arab and Muslim worlds. Just as he did last week in Europe, Obama began the conversation by criticizing America.

PUBLIC POST *
I have been crazy-busy the last few days, but I don't believe anyone has posted this story.
How can we address problems, whether real or perceived, if this administration plays fast and loose with statistics?
I don't know whether they're ignorant, or they think we're fools.
