Since moving to Norway, I've been experimenting with open face sandwiches (called smørbrød in Norwegian - which means butter bread). They really are a staple over here. People eat them for breakfast, lunch and at night before going to bed.

One late night, my boyfriend and I came home to find there was very little for dinner except really fresh veggies from his mom, a little cheese and bread. So this is what we came up with "make your own open face sandwich dinner."
We had good fresh bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, green bell peppers, jalapenos, habanero peppers, basil, oil olive, goat cheese, 2 hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese and jack cheese!

I don't know about the rest of you, but sometimes I simply need to eat pizza. I wouldn't call it a staple in my diet by any means, but once in awhile, I just have this incredible craving for pizza.
And, in this case, it might actually be easier to make something from home than to order out!

So, I'm surfing the internet, trying to come up with a great picture for one of the recipes I want to post, and what happens?
I find another recipe that I like. It never fails.

My husband and I got really fed up of looking for an apartment, so today we went for a walk around Bergen (Norway) to discover our new hometown. I had been to the port a few times already but always at night, so I always missed the fish market. I had read that the fish market was great, but never thought it would be that great.

Barbecue Chicken Sloppy Joes
These sandwiches are indeed sloppy. In fact, you may want to eat them with a knife and fork! Buy a large enough chicken for the 2 cups you'll need here, and the leftovers can be used in other chicken recipes.
