Nicole Richie has been busy in NYC promoting her Fall '10 Winter Kate collection. For her in-store appearance at Bloomingdale's, the newly engaged celebrity designer shed her Winter coat to show off her California cool style — a pair of denim cutoffs, white collarless shirt, and a cute black Winter Kate crochet vest. Opaque tights, suede Christian Louboutin booties, and stunning engagement ring complete her funky boho look.

If a little cold, snow, and ice won't keep you from running outside, then I'm with you. Nothing beats Winter running, because it feels so good to breathe in the cool, crisp air. Plus you hardly ever have to worry about overheating, like you do in the Summer.

Here are my pretty clunky dirty new look boots! I loved them from the second I laid eyes on them, but they were out of my price range at 70 euros. Ok, not that expensive, but I’d already bought myself a new pair of sensible boots for the winter, and these are grey.

In the Winter months, exercising outdoors can seem like the last thing you want to do because of the frigid, biting temps. If you need a little warming up, check out this heated vest by Venture ($159). Made for active Winter folks, this rechargeable battery-powered vest is meant to keep you toasty without having to layer on tons of bulky clothes.

With the cold weather, the time is right to add vibrant color and fresh flavor to salads. Since it's blood orange season, I like to toss this tangy citrus into a simple salad recipe. If your local market doesn't carry blood oranges, you can easily substitute them with regular oranges or even grapefruit.

After a Winter of being cooped up indoors, daylight saving has arrived, the weather is warming up, and I can't wait to get outside for regular runs in the sunshine! But besides being dangerous for your skin, increased time in the sun can be bad for your eyes, too — UV exposure can lead to cataracts and glaucoma. I wear sunglasses while I'm walking to work or outdoors on the weekends, but I completely space when it comes to wearing them on a run.

What is winter without a "fashionable coat". Having a nice outwear is a true essential to a winter wardrobe. If you are going to purchase a new coat this winter, make the "right selection".

Depending on where you live, finding good Winter produce can be difficult — this is especially true on the East Coast. Around this time of year, farmers markets lose a bit of lushness and start resembling outdoor root cellars. However, hidden amongst the piles of potatoes, carrots, and turnips is one of my most favorite vegetables ever: broccoli rabe, aka rapini.
