The wife of a rich man fell sick, and as she felt that her end was drawing near, she called her only daughter to her bedside and said, "Dear child, be good and pious, and then the good God will always protect you, and I will look down on you from heaven and be near you."
Thereupon she closed her eyes and departed. Every day the maiden went out to her mother's grave, and wept, and she remained pious and good.

Goat Cheese Cheesecake with Roasted Rosemary Pears
(recipe from Whole Foods Market)
Substituting goat cheese for some of the cream cheese in a cheesecake results in an absolutely stunning dessert that is slightly tangy and not too sweet. Add some rosemary-roasted pears and your guests will be dreaming of this cake for days after you serve it. Make it natural by using only organic ingredients.

In answer to Casa's Midday Muse I'd like to share photos of the bounty that is just starting to come in from our garden. Yes. It's a bit late.

So another trip to Walgreens has passed for me, and I came out with some pretty cool stuff:
Neutrogena Oil-Free Makeup Remover
A double phase liquid that I bought while looking to substitute my bi-facil (gotta cut down the budget!) I really liked how this works. The scent is almost unnoticeable, it feels fresh when you put it on, rinses off easily, leaves no mascara on, and leaves absolutely no oily residue. It's a keeper!
