You can always rely on Burlington Coat Factory for great coats-even designer coats-for a lot less than department store prices. And the wide selection is always a plus. Last weekend I saw this down filled “Chevron Puffer Coat with Faux Fur Trim” by London Fog and was surprised at the price-originally $150, it was now only $70!

ASAN, South Korea - Brides in white gowns and Japanese kimonos joined grooms in black suits and red ties Wednesday for the Unification Church's biggest mass wedding in a decade — a spectacle church officials say involves 40,000 people around the world.
The "blessing ceremony" is the church's largest since 1999, and may well be the last on such a grand scale officiated by the 89-year-old Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the controversial founder of the Unification Church.

Lily Bass, played by Kelly Rutherford, might have ditched the black tie wedding for a garden ceremony at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, but that doesn’t mean her Upper East Side guests were any less fashionable. Her daughter, Serena van der Woodsen, played by Blake Lively, celebrated her mother’s nuptials in an olive green J. Mendel strapless dress with beaded detail paired with muted red heels.

I thought Dowd had and interesting view worthy of discussion in it's own thread. Thanks for the link, Steph!
Boy, Oh, Boy

The normally nonchalant Barack Obama looked nonplussed, as Nancy Pelosi glowered behind.
Surrounded by middle-aged white guys — a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club — Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t.

Greek cooking offers an incredibly rich and diverse array of foods and beverages that are the culmination of literally thousands of years of living, cooking, and eating. While each Greek meal is fresh and inviting, it is also a trip back through Greece's history.
Ingredients
The names of foods, cooking methods, and basic ingredients have changed little over time.

You can still order a Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse, a slice of 30th anniversary chocolate cake cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory, and a Pizookie at BJ's Restaurant Brewhouse.
But you'll have a harder time enjoying them in blissful ignorance. Since July 1, chains with at least 20 restaurants statewide have been required to provide diners with the gory nutritional details -- including calories.

‘Empathy‘ versus law, Part II
By Thomas Sowell
The great Supreme Court justice Oliver Wendell Holmes is not the kind of justice who would have been appointed under President Barack Obama's criterion of "empathy" for certain groups.
Like most people, Justice Holmes had empathy for some and antipathy for others, but his votes on the Supreme Court often went against those for whom he had empathy and for those for whom he had antipathy. As Holmes himself put it: "I loathed most of the things in favor of which I decided."
