Now that the theme has been set and the invitations have been sent out, it's time to start stocking up on the necessary items for my 3-year-old princess's royal affair. First on the list is a regal style cake pan. In the past I've ordered the dessert from our grocer but this year I'm thinking of making it so she can help me with the decoration.

I made this birthday cake for a friend of my mother's. Her son was turning 2 years old and I had just bought those cake pillars and wanted to try them out. I figured if I was going to make it a two tiered cake, I would have to make it a little more kid friendly, so I added the bear on the top.

Recipe
Special equipment: For molds you can use baking pans, boxes, mixing bowls, plastic storage containers, or whatever you can think of. Just make sure the molds are clean. Line them with waxed paper, then lightly coat the wax paper with nonstick cooking spray.

Devils food cake with vanilla buttercream filling and icing. The fences, sea grass, and birds on the top tier were free handed with food coloring. The pink, brown, and white seashells were made from seashell chocolate molds, and the palm tree and golden "50" were made from fondant.

The chocolate hazulnut madeleine batter smelled like Nutella! Delicious!
Madeleines are cakelike cookies that were made famous by Louis XV in France.

This cake was for an 8 year old's pirate themed birthday party. The cake was sculptured from yellow cake and chocolate buttercream icing. The details on the ship and water were made from colored plain buttercream icing.

My favorite dessert!!!:)
125 g dark chocolate
125 g unsalted butter
3 eggs
3 egg yolks
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon Cointreau liqueur or vanilla extract (if you don't like liqueur substitute with vanilla extract)
Break the chocolate and butter into small pieces, melt them on the microwave under"defrost" for about two minutes, Don't let it stand too long on the microwave to avoid burning the chocolate.
With a spoon mix the melted chocolate and butter until smooth.
Reserve.

Okay, this cake ended up just about giving me a stroke by the end of it. I made a lemon flavored white cake that was really delicious and I will probably end up making that recipe again because not only did it taste great, it also had a great consistency to use for stacking or creating tiers. All I did was use 2 regular white cake mixes and added the zest of 2 whole lemons and the juice from 4 whole lemons.

From my dear friend Sharon
Subject: Warning-Pancake/Cake Mix/Bisquick
Hi everyone,
A student at HBHS had pancakes this week and it almost became fatal..
His Mom (registered nurse) made him pancakes, dropped him off at school
and headed to play tennis.
She never takes her cell phone on the court but did this time and her son
called to say he was
having trouble breathing.
