Choosing champagne or sparkling wine to celebrate the holiday season is a nice low-calorie alternative to spirits or beer, but when I'm craving a cocktail, a plain glass of Prosecco doesn't always do the trick.
If you're looking for a nice cocktail to enjoy this holiday season, try my refreshing rosemary pear sparkler. It makes a great aperitif, and the flavors of pear and rosemary really tie together the feelings of Fall.

My family picks a signature cocktail for each holidays to keep things colorful and festive (and so we don't just default to beer, wine and champagne). Last Christmas my mom picked Apple martinis. They were a bit sweet, but no one complained.

This is everything, minus five items I pulled out for swapping.
This was actually a pretty exhausting task...so you'd better enjoy, or else :impatient:.
Anyways, I'll start with my favorite beauty product ever...

Champagne flukes, sushi, and the finest wines graced the ritzy digs of this mega-mansion in the exclusive hills of Cinemaville. Joints were brazenly dished out on silver platters. The movie industries hottest young stars, including Hillary Duff, Leighton Meester and recent Vogue cover girl Renee Yrilkosminov could be seen dining and skinny dipping on the palatial grounds of the estate.

I've been obsessed with Lush even before they opened stores in the US. I used to buy their products whenever I traveled to Europe, or I'd order them mail-order from Canada. Now the stores are popping up all over the States and they opened one in Philly but I haven't even gone yet.

Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg on the set of the movie Slogan, June 1968. By Gilles Caron/Contact Press Images.
The Secret World of Serge Gainsbourg
Sixteen years after Serge Gainsbourg's death, his small, graffiti-covered Paris house is almost exactly as he left it—crammed with mementos of his poetic, nicotine-and-alcohol-fueled, sometimes scandalous life as France's most adored singer-songwriter, lover of Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot, and friend to countless taxi drivers and policemen.

Trying to Lighten That Carbon Footprint
By JENNIFER CONLIN
Published: May 4, 2008
IN February, on a chilly, clear Sunday morning, Sir Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic, along with the co-sponsors Boeing and GE Aviation, lured more than 200 journalists to a hangar at Heathrow Airport near London to witness what they said was airline history. Over flutes of Champagne and plates of mini-bagels filled with salmon, everyone’s eyes were fixed on a 747 as it took off on the world’s first biofuel demonstration flight.
Never mind that only one of the plane’s engines used biofuel, and that was about 25 percent mixed with standard kerosene jet fuel.

Gwyneth Paltrow has slammed reports she snubbed a party held in her honor, insisting she never intended to attend the event.
Paramount Pictures executives spared no expense in throwing an extravagant bash for the Iron Man star, intended as a thank-you for her hard work on the film’s recent promotional tour.
Studio bosses reportedly lavished $120,000 on the private celebration at London restaurant Cocoon on Thursday, inviting 30 of her closest family and friends and supplying Perrier Jouet champagne and vodka cocktails that she was said to have requested.
