Want to buy some candles that actually smell up a room and tired of paying over $20 for just one candle? Even though these candles are a little more than I would pay for on a daily basis, I really LOVE these candles. They are all home made and they really smell up a room and last forever. Plus, I guess I am a little bias because the candles that I bought were from an elderly gentleman trying to make some money. He was at the only booth out of the whole entire fair that did not have a fan or an awning and it was at least 80 degrees out. I could tell that he used most of his money to buy himself a spot. This company not only produces high quality, good smelling candles, but they are one of the nicest companies I have dealt with. So, if you are looking for some candles as presents or just would like to buy some candles, check this site out.

Since decadent foods like ice cream, baked treats, and fried foods tend to be high in the calorie department, it's good to have a few healthy food swap ideas up your sleeve. Here are some shared by fellow FitSugar readers.

"Avocado instead of mayo . . . sure it may have fat in it but it's healthy fat and tastes delicious. Hummus instead of cream in sauces and soups . . . adds a ton of flavor and protein." - mamasitamalita

"I use balsamic vinegar (not vinaigrette) on my salads without any oil. It gives the same powerful flavor kick but for a lot less calories." - laellavita

"Replace ranch dressing on my salad with cottage cheese." - genipher85

For more great ideas, keep reading

20 worst foods to eat

1. Worst fast-food chicken meal
Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips from McDonald's (5 pieces) with creamy ranch sauce

830 calories

55 grams (g) fat (4.5 g trans fat)

48 g carbohydrates
The only thing "premium" about these strips is the caloric price you pay. Add a large fries and regular soda and this seemingly innocuous chicken meal tops out at 1,710 calories.

Change Your Chicken: 20 McNuggets have the same impact. Instead, choose Mickey D's six-piece offering with BBQ sauce and save yourself 530 calories.

2. Worst drink
Jamba Juice Chocolate Moo'd Power Smoothie (30 fl oz)

900 calories 10 g fat

183 g carbs (166 g sugar)
Jamba Juice calls it a smoothie; we call it a milk shake. In fact, this beverage contains as much sugar as 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's butter pecan ice cream.

Turn Down the Power: Seventy-five percent of this chain's "power smoothies" contain in excess of 100 grams of sugar. Stick to Jamba's lower-calorie All Fruit Smoothies, which are the only menu items that contain no added sugar. And always opt for the 16-ounce "small."

3. Worst supermarket meal
Pepperidge Farm Roasted Chicken Pot Pie (whole pie)

1,020 calories 64 g fat

86 g carbs
The label may say this pie serves two, but who ever divided a small pot pie in half? The sad truth is, once you crack the crust, there will be no stopping -- which makes this 300 calories worse than anything else you'll find in the freezer case.

Pick a Better Pie: Swanson's chicken pot pie has just 400 calories.

4. Worst 'healthy' burger
Ruby Tuesday Bella Turkey Burger

1,145 calories 71 g fat

56 g carbs
We chose this burger for more than its calorie payload: Its name implies that it's healthy.

The Truly Healthy Choice: Skip burgers entirely (few at Ruby Tuesday come in under 1,000 calories). Instead, order a 9-ounce sirloin with a side of steamed vegetables, and keep things under 1,000 calories.

5. Worst Mexican entree
Chipotle Mexican Grill Chicken Burrito

1,179 calories 47 g fat

125 g carbs

2,656 milligrams (mg) sodium
Despite a reputation for using healthy, fresh ingredients, Chipotle's menu is limited to king-size burritos, overstuffed tacos, and gigantic salads -- all of which lead to a humongous waistline.

Make Over the Menu: There are two ways to Men's Healthify a burrito at Chipotle: (1) 86 the rice and tortilla and request your meat, vegetables, and beans served in a bowl or (2) bring a friend and saw the burrito in half.

6. Worst kids' meal
Macaroni Grill Double Macaroni 'n' Cheese

1,210 calories 62 g fat

3,450 mg sodium
It's like feeding your kid 1 1/2 boxes of Kraft mac 'n' cheese.

Your Best Option: The 390-calorie Grilled Chicken and Broccoli.

7. Worst sandwich
Quiznos Classic Italian (large)

1,490 calories 85 g fat

4,510 mg sodium 96 g carbs
A large homemade sandwich would more likely provide about 500 calories.

Cut the Calories: Isn't it obvious? Order a small -- or save half for later.

8.Worst salad
On the Border Grande Taco Salad with Taco Beef

1,450 calories 102 g fat

78 g carbs 2,410 mg sodium
This isn't an anomaly: Five different On the Border salads on the menu contain more than 1,100 calories each.

The Salad for You: The Sizzling Chicken Fajita Salad supplies an acceptable 760 calories. But remember to choose a noncaloric beverage, such as water or unsweetened iced tea.

9. Worst burger
Carl's Jr. Double Six Dollar Burger

1,520 calories

111 g fat
Carl's Jr. brags that it's home to this enormous sandwich, but the restaurant chain also provides convenient nutrition info on its Web site -- so ignorance is no excuse for eating it.

A Simple Solution: The Low Carb Six Dollar Burger has just 490 calories.

10. Worst steak
Lonestar 20 oz T-bone

1,540 calories

124 g fat
Add a baked potato and Lonestar's Signature Lettuce Wedge, and this is a 2,700-calorie blowout.

Choose with Your Head: The golden rule of steak restaurants is this: Limit yourself to a 9-ouncer or smaller. After all, that's more than half a pound of meat. You won't walk away hungry.

11. Worst breakfast
Bob Evans Caramel Banana Pecan Cream Stacked and Stuffed Hotcakes

1,540 calories

77 g fat (9 g trans fat)

198 g carbs (109 g sugar)
Five Egg McMuffins yield the same caloric cost as this stack of sugar-stuffed flapjacks, which is truly a heavy breakfast, weighing in at a hefty pound and a half.

Order This Instead: A Bob Evans Western Omelet starts your day with a reasonable 654 calories and 44 grams of muscle-building protein.

12. Worst dessert
Chili's Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream

1,600 calories

78 g fat

215 g carbs
Would you eat a Big Mac for dessert? How about three? That's the calorie equivalent of this decadent dish. Clearly, Chili's customers get their money's worth.

Don't Overdo It: If you want dessert at Chili's, order one single-serving Sweet Shot; you'll cap your after-dinner intake at 310 calories.

13. Worst Chinese entree
P.F. Chang's Pork Lo Mein

1,820 calories

127 g fat

95 g carbs
The fat content in this dish alone provides more than 1,100 calories. And you'd have to eat almost five servings of pasta to match the number of carbohydrates it contains. Now, do you really need five servings of pasta?

Pick Another Noodle: P.F. Chang's Singapore Street Noodles will satisfy your craving with only 570 calories. Or try the Moo Goo Gai Pan or the Ginger Chicken & Broccoli, which have 660 calories each.

14. Worst pizza
Uno Chicago Grill Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza

2,310 calories

162 g fat

123 g carbs

4,470 mg sodium
Downing this "personal" pizza is equivalent to eating 18 slices of Domino's Crunchy Thin Crust cheese pizza.

Swap Your Slices: Switch to the Sausage Flatbread Pie and avert deep-dish disaster by nearly 1,500 calories.

15. Worst pasta
Macaroni Grill Spaghetti and Meatballs with Meat Sauce

2,430 calories

128 g fat

207 g carbs

5,290 mg sodium
This meal satisfies your calorie requirements for an entire day.

Downsize the Devastation: Ask for a lunch portion of this dinner dish (or any pasta on the menu, for that matter), and request regular tomato sauce instead of meat sauce. You'll cut the calories in half.

16. Worst nachos
On the Border Stacked Border Nachos

2,740 calories

166 g fat

191 g carbs

5,280 mg sodium

17. Worst starter
Chili's Awesome Blossom

2,710 calories

203 g fat

194 g carbs

6,360 mg sodium

18. The worst food in America (according to MSN)
Outback Steakhouse Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing

2,900 calories

182 g fat

240 g carbs
Even if you split these "starters" with three friends, you'll have downed a dinner's worth of calories before your entrée arrives.

Super Substitutions Front-load your meal with a protein-based dish that's not deep-fried. A high-protein starter helps diminish hunger without putting you into calorie overload. And remember: Appetizers are meant to be shared.

At On the Border: Chicken Soft Tacos (250 calories each). This entrée is as close as you'll come to a healthy starter.

At Chili's: Garlic & Lime Grilled Shrimp. Look for this item in the "sides."

At Outback: Seared Ahi or Shrimp on the Barbie.

I have been trying to find a dessert that Hershey's Pennsylvania makes that is a whopping 4,000 calories! I forgot the name of it but I watched it on TV awhile back. If anyone has information on this, let me know.

But at 43, Cindy Crawford has her coping strategies firmly in place – a mixture of acceptance and defiance. "I have cellulite. I admit it," the legendary cover model says with a laugh in the September issue of Redbook, on sale Tuesday. But if you think she's going to hide herself away as a result, forget it. "Sometimes I just say, 'Screw it, I am going to wear a bikini,' " she says.

Still, the pressures of aging are real – and compounded for those known primarily for their physical beauty. The key to dealing with it, says Crawford, is not to build up too many defenses. "I think I look good for my age," she says. "I am not 25; I am 43. That feels like a big pressure, especially when the National Enquirer is dying to get a picture." "I am so aware that I don't want to change the way I live because of that kind of attention ... You just brace yourself for a bad picture."

Kids and Career

Not that Crawford doesn't have other things to focus on. She juggles family life with husband Rande Gerber and children Presley, 10, and Kaia, 7, with an entrepreneurial streak – she's preparing to roll out her new Cindy Crawford Style home collection at JCPenney next month. Almost 25 years into her career, she still stands out in a crowd, though of course that brings its own stresses. "People get excited that they're meeting the Cindy Crawford from the Playboy spread 13 years ago, and I am a mother of two now," she says. "I have to check in with myself. It's good to have an awareness of the outside pressure; I can't let it get to my core. I love my life."
Let's start with your story then. Did you grow up in a fancy house? My house always looked as great as my mom could make it, but it was never like, "Let's get a new living room." She could never furnish a whole room at one time. So you'd sit on the couch until it was ready for the curb. When did you first develop an interest in interior design?I remember when my older sister moved out and I had a room all to myself. I had this random rug that my great uncle had made from carpet scraps that I thought was very cool. I took one of my first paychecks from working at a store after school and bought wallpaper - peach with little flowers on it. Then I got a peach bedspread and pillows and peach curtains and mini blinds. Everything was bought with everything else in mind.So you had a knack for it?I thought so, but then when I moved into my first apartment in Chicago, I went to a store where you could pick the shape and the fabric of the sofa. I was so excited; it even had a pullout bed for guests. But when they delivered the couch, it didn't fit around the corner in the entry, so I had to get an upholsterer to cut off one of the arms. It didn't look totally weird, but it was good reminder that you have to measure everything. Still, I ended up moving that sofa to New York with me to two more apartments and had it recovered. It was a good couch. What makes a house a home? The most important thing is comfort. I want my home to look good, feel good, and smell good. I want it to be inclusive, to reflect the people who live there. How do you achieve that? Each year I frame one of the kids' drawings or paintings. It's amazing that when you put it in a frame - it doesn't have to be expensive one - it becomes art. In the kids' playroom, I have all of those pieces, one for each year, together on one wall. When you put them all together, they tell a story. What stories are being told in your house? Our family room, where we live, is about togetherness and ease. Nothing in my house is too formal. There are no coasters on tables; the kids can eat Popsicles on the couch if they want to. I let them ride these little cycles we got for them when they were 3 that have rubber wheels and no pedals. They still ride them around the house. We do homework at the kitchen table. It's very cozy. How do you entertain? We have friends over for dinner, but it's very casual. I am usually in jeans and bare feet, and that sets the tone for everybody. My husband is the ambiance guy. He's always in charge of music and the lighting - candles and incense. He always has every light on a dimmer, even without company - sometimes to the point where I can't see anything! We have a fire pit outside and have hors d'oeuvres there. Because we have kids and most of our friends do, we plan around them. We start a little early and we put the kids at one end of the table, because after eating they will evaporate and do their own thing. Then the grown-ups sit there and enjoy the company for another hour or two. Do you cook?I am not a fine chef, but I can certainly get dinner on the table for 14 people. With that many, I try to keep it simple: salmon, mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, and salad. For sure, I do the desserts. I make a coconut cake, which is actually easy, and a carrot cake, which my husband loves so much we had it for our wedding cake. If I want to get on his good side, I make that cake. The hard part is that I use white chocolate in the frosting and you have to melt it and introduce the other two ingredients, sour cream and cream cheese. The timing is crucial; otherwise the white chocolate can start coagulating and you get chunky frosting - which, by the way, still tastes good. Last night, Presley and I had a pie contest. He made strawberry rhubarb - I gave him my recipe, but I didn't touch his pie - and I tried a new one: peach blueberry. And I said, "We won't tell who made what, and we'll have a vote." And his pie won. I was outbaked by my 10-year-old!When it's just you and the kids, what's a typical evening like at your house?I like doing homework with the kids. Not because I like homework but because they don't like it. So I feel that's my responsibility. We eat dinner together nearly every night, and we do sit down at the dining room table. I am pretty convinced that kids would rather eat at home most of the time. You think it's special to take them out to dinner, but after 20 minutes they are like, "Are you done yet? Can we go?" They might like the food, but they don't like the experience. What do you do after dinner and homework? My kids are so great. They don't need a big production. One night, we sat on the couch and my son had taken off his socks, and we ended up throwing the socks at each other like Hot Potato for 20 minutes. We also like Cranium games. They're fun and about getting to know other people. We also play games that you can play anywhere, like I Never. Everyone starts out with five points and then I would say something I've never done, but I think everyone else has done. So I would say, "I never went to preschool," because I know my kids went to preschool and all their friends probably did, so all those kids would lose one point. And then they'd say to me, "Well, I've never been married." And I would lose a point. There's another one called Two Truths and a Lie. You say three things, two of them are true and one is a lie, and the other people have to decide which is which. I played these games when I was growing up, and they're great because they don't require boards or pieces - they're about using your imagination and being observant. Is there a place in your house that makes you especially happy?I finally have the closet of my dreams. It is just awesome. It has French doors and windows, so I can see the kids in the yard, and there is so much great natural light. I have a makeup area, a phone, a TV. A lot of times the kids will be in there, but sometimes I'm like, "Out!" It's very therapeutic for me to organize and get rid of things; it stresses me out to have too much. Everyone is jealous of my storage room, where I have everything organized in Tupperware boxes. What else gets you stressed? My goal is to be present. In whatever I do. If I am with the kids, I don't want to be typing on my BlackBerry under the table, and if I am talking to someone, I am not feeling bad because I am not going to Chuck E. Cheese's with my kids. I schedule my life in a way that I can do that. If I am overscheduled, I never really feel good wherever I am because I am thinking, I should be here doing this. There's another pressure, especially in L.A... I think I look good for my age. I am not 25; I am 43. That feels like a big pressure, especially when the National Enquirer is dying to get a picture. I am so aware that I don't want to change the way I live because of that kind of attention. So you say, "Screw it. I am wearing this bikini, and I am not putting on a cover-up." You just brace yourself for a bad picture. It's hard to believe there's ever been a bad photo of Cindy Crawford.I always say even I don't wake up looking like Cindy Crawford! What people see on magazine covers is one moment that was perfect - the wind, the light, the hair, the makeup. That's a two-hour process. People get excited that they're meeting the Cindy Crawford from the Playboy spread 13 years ago, and I am a mother of two now. I have to check in with myself. It's good to have an awareness of that outside pressure; I can't let it get to my core. I love my life. How do you relax?Working out is a great stress reliever. And so is having girlfriends you can talk to. I like to hike with friends; you're exercising and also getting that girl time. Mostly we talk about kids and husbands. My friends are redefining themselves as their kids get older, and now that the kids need them less, they're thinking about how they stay interested in things. I always like to read in a sitting room upstairs off our bedroom. When I'm on the main floor of the house, it's, "Okay, I am ready for anything." If I am upstairs, then it's, "Don't bother me unless you need something. [Laughs] Or if you're bleeding."Do you and Rande have date nights? We do have date nights. It sounds a little cheesy, but that's what it is - time for the two of us. We recently went to see The Hangover. My husband just lost his father so he really needed that kind of movie. It was an escape. The kids go to bed at 9, and we also have that hour and a half at night before I go to bed, although in the summer the kids want to stay up later. I remember being a kid in summer and having the whole summer ahead of you. I want them to be able to stay in their pajamas all day if they want. That's what summer is for. But we're still figuring out bedtime, because I want that time alone with my husband. How has being a mom contributed to your life?I always thought it was such a cliché that you have this little baby and you fall in love and people say, "Wait, it gets better." And you think, How can it get better than this? But it does. I like hanging out with my kids. When we went to Disneyland, they wanted to go on the same rides as I did. You get to re-experience all the fun things through their eyes. You realize how jaded we can become as adults. Just watching them when they get excited and their whole body is shaking and they can't even contain it - as adults, how often do we get that excited? What have your kids taught you?Kids come out with a lot of things that are just who they are. For instance, I was a valedictorian, always sitting in the front row of class with my hand raised. And my daughter has some of that in her, but my son doesn't. He does fine, but he says, "Extra credit? I don't have to do that." I think, Why wouldn't you want to? But I can't make him or trick him into wanting to do it. You can't say, "There is only one way to succeed." I hope I'm learning to support them in being who they are. And kids will call you on your BS. I said to my daughter once, "Quit being such a whine-steen," and she says, "Quit being such a yell-steen" and I'm like, Oh, touché! And she was only 4! What do you think are some of parents' biggest challenges today?I had kids before I had dogs, and when I got a dog, the trainer said, "You just need to establish yourself as the leader." [Laughs] God, I wish I had known this before I had kids. Now, even though I want the kids to be part of the family and have a voice, we have the last say. We build them up so much that sometimes they think they have the last say. My mother will say, "I feel so sorry for you." Like she'll hear me say, "Now, Presley, that is not an appropriate way to speak to your sister." And I can tell my mother just wants me to say, "No. Don't." Sometimes I lose it and do raise my voice, but I try to do my best, as most parents do. These days we are so worried about being PC perfect mothers. We are so overly involved. It's trying to find that balance between helping your child be successful and also wanting them to be independent.Do they know what they want to be when they grow up?I hope they are kind and respectful and can function in this world and still be individuals, not necessarily leaders but not followers. I hope they can incorporate what they're passionate about into whatever their job is. Presley has an adult friend who is a Navy SEAL, and right now he wants to be that. My daughter says she wants to be a singer and a dancer, but - and the way she said this was so cute - she might model first because you don't have to have any special skills. And then she wants to end up being a teacher. That's an interesting career path; we'll see how that works out for her. What inspires you?I went to an ashram a while ago, and someone asked the question there, "What's your passion in life?" Then we had a two-hour silent hike to actually think about it. And connecting all the dots, I decided I love communicating, because I do that in all different aspects of my work, in being a mother and a wife. So I think that is my passion: communicating with other people. My ideas, my sense of style, it's all about that.

Halloween Themed Goodies

Halloween, scarily enough, is just around the corner and I'm thinking that it would be a great idea to bring in some goodies that I can share with my office. I've been rather remiss in ever bringing in any treats and I think this would be a fun thing to do, especially since the end of the fiscal year is coming (September 30! ARGH!) and we're all a little stressed out. So what better way to celebrate a new fiscal year and all our hard work than by bringing in some sweet treats for the month of October?

These recipes would also be great for a Halloween themed party or maybe you know someone with a birthday coming up who wants something a little out of the ordinary.

My Nephew Andrew - Happy Halloween!

From KraftFoods.com

Spider Web Brownies

Prep Time: 20 min
Total Time: 1 hr 57 min
Makes: 32 servings, 1 brownie each

4 squares Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup coarsely chopped Pecans (optional)
1 jar (7 oz.) Marshmallow Creme
1 square Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted

Directions

LINE 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan to form handles. Grease foil.

MICROWAVE unsweetened chocolate and butter in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar; mix well. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Add flour and nuts; mix well. Spread into prepared pan.

BAKE at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Immediately drop marshmallow creme by spoonfuls over hot brownies; spread evenly over top of brownies. Cool in pan. Lift out of pan onto cutting board using foil handles. Remove foil. Place on serving tray. Drizzle melted chocolate over marshmallow creme to create a spider web design. Cut into 32 brownies just before serving.

From KraftFoods.com

Spider Cupcakes

Prep Time: 15 min
Total Time: 40 min
Makes: 2 doz. or 24 servings, one cupcake each

1 pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1/3 cup KOOL-AID Orange Flavor Sugar-Sweetened Soft Drink Mix
2 Tbsp. hot water
1 can (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting
24 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
12 pieces black string licorice (32 inch each)
48 miniature candy-coated chocolate pieces

Directions

PREPARE cake batter as directed on package; blend in dry pudding mix. Spoon evenly into 24 paper-lined medium muffin cups. Bake as directed on package for cupcakes. Cool completely.

DISSOLVE drink mix in hot water. Stir into frosting until blended. Frost cupcakes, reserving some frosting for attaching candies.

CUT each licorice piece into sixteen 2-inch pieces; set aside. Place 1 cookie on top of each cupcake. Insert 4 licorice pieces into each side of each cookie for the "spider's legs." (Eight licorice pieces for each cookie.) Add 2 candy-coated chocolate pieces to top of each cookie using some of the reserved frosting for the "spider's eyes."

From KraftFoods.com

Easy Ghost Cookies

Prep Time: 45 min
Total Time: 45 min
Makes: 18 servings, 1 cookie each

1 pkg. (6 oz.) BAKER'S Premium White Baking Chocolate
18 NUTTER BUTTER Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies
Decorating gels and/or assorted small candies

Directions

MICROWAVE chocolate in medium microwavable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 minutes or until chocolate is completely melted, stirring every 30 seconds.

SPREAD chocolate onto one side of each cookie for the ghost's "body." Cool slightly.

DECORATE with gels and/or candies to create "faces." Cool until chocolate is set.

From KraftFoods.com

Monster Coffin Cake

Prep Time: 20 min
Total Time: 20 min
Makes: 12 servings

1/3 cup KOOL-AID Grape Flavor Sugar-Sweetened Soft Drink Mix
2 Tbsp. hot water
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
4 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
1 pkg. (10.75 oz.) frozen pound cake, thawed
10 Miniature Marshmallows
1 Marshmallow
Black decorating gel
3 worm-shaped chewy fruit snacks

Directions

PLACE drink mix in large bowl. Add hot water; stir until drink mix is completely dissolved. Add cream cheese; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping with wire whisk. Remove 1/2 tsp. of the cream cheese mixture for later use; set remaining cream cheese mixture aside.

CRUSH 3 of the cookies; place cookie crumbs in shallow dish. Set aside. Cut cake lengthwise in half. Frost cake top with some of the remaining cream cheese mixture. Dip in cookie crumbs until evenly coated; set aside. Place cake bottom on serving platter; frost top and sides with some of the remaining cream cheese mixture. Place cake top next to cake bottom to resemble coffin lid. Frost sides and cut side of cake top with remaining cream cheese mixture.

PLACE remaining cookie in center of cake bottom to resemble a body. Line up two rows of 3 mini marshmallows each at bottom of "body" to resemble legs. Place 2 miniature marshmallows on sides of "body" to resemble arms. Place large marshmallow at top of "body" to resemble head. Using reserved 1/2 tsp. cream cheese mixture, attach 2 miniature marshmallows to sides of "head" to resemble ears. Use decorating gel to draw mouth and eyes. Top cake with fruit snacks.

My Niece Ashley - First Halloween

20 worst foods in America

I've only had a couple of these, but gross! There is NO need for foods to have this many calories.

The Top 20 Worst Foods in America

20: Worst Fast-Food Chicken Meal - Chicken Selects Premium Breast
Strips from McDonald's (5 pieces) with cream ranch sauce. 830
Calories, 55 grams fat (4.5 trans fat), 48 carbs. Add a large fries
and regular soda and this seemingly innocuous chicken meal tops out
at 1,710 calories.

19: Worst drink - Jamba Juice Chocolate Moo'd Power Smoothie (30 fl
oz). 900 calories, 10 g fat, 183 carbs, 166 g sugar. Jamba Juice
calls it a smoothie, MSNBC calls it a milk shake. The beverage
contains as much sugar as 8 pints of Ben & Jerry's butter pecan ice
cream.

18: Worst supermarket meal - Pepperidge Farm Roasted Chicken Pot Pie
(whole pie). 1,020 calories, 64 g fat, 86 g carbs. Label may say this
pie serves two, but, who ever divided a small pot pie in half? Once
you crack the crust, there will be no stopping.

17: Worst 'healthy' burger - Ruby Tuesday Bella Turkey Burger. 1,145
calories, 71 g fat, 56 g carbs.

16: Worst Mexican entree - Chipotle Mexican Grill Chicken Burrito.
1,179 calories, 47 g fat, 125 g carbs, 2,656 mg sodium.

15: Worst kids' meal - Macaroni Grill Double Macaroni 'n' Cheese.
1,210 calories, 62 g fat, 3,450 mg sodium. It's like feeding your kid
1 1/2 boxes of Kraft mac 'n' cheese.

14: Worst sandwich - Quiznos Classic Italian (large). 1,528 calories,
92 g fat, 4,604 mg sodium, 110 g carbs. A large homemade sandwich
would more likely provided about 500 calories.

13: Worst salad - On the Border Grande Taco Salad with Taco Beef.
1,450 calories, 102 g fat, 78 g carbs, 2,410 mg sodium. This isn't an
anomaly: Five different On the Border salads on the menu contain more
than 1, 100 calories each.

12: Worst burger - Carl's Jr. (Hardee's on East Coast) Double Six Dollar Burger. 1,520
calories! , 111g fat. Carl's Jr. brags it's home to this enormous
sandwich, but the restaurant chain also provides convenient nutrition
info on its Web site -- so ignorance is no excuse for eating it.

11: Worst steak - Lonestar 20 oz T-bone. 1,540 calories, 124g fat.
Add a baked potato and Lonestar's Signature Lettuce Wedge, and this
is a 2,700 calorie blowout.

10: Worst breakfast - Bob Evans Caramel Banana Pecan Cream Stacked
and Stuffed hotcakes. 1,540 calories, 77 g fat (9 g trans fat), 198 g
carbs, 109 g sugar. Five Egg McMuffins yield the same caloric cost as
this stack of sugar-stuffed flapjacks, which is truly a heavy
breakfast, weighing in at a hefty pound and a half.

9: Worst dessert - Chili's Chocolate Chip Paradise Pie with Vanilla
Ice Cream. 1,600 calories, 78 g fat, 215 g carbs. Would you eat a Big
Mac for dessert? How about three? That's the calorie equivalent of
this decadent dish. Clearly, Chili's customers get their money's worth.

8: Worst chinese entree - P.F. Chang's Pork Lo Mein. 1,820 calories,
127 g fat,! 95 g carbs. The fat content in this dish alone provides
more than 1,100 calories. And you'd have to eat almost five servings
of pasta to match the number of carbs it contains. Now, do you really
need five servings of pasta?

7: Worst chicken entree - Chili's Honey Chipotle Crispers with
Chipotle Sauce. 2,040 calories, 99 g fat, 240 g carbs. "Crispers"
refers to an extra thick layer of break crumbs that soak up oil and
adds unnecessary calories and carbs to these glorified chicken strips.

6: Worst fish entree - On the Border Dos XX Fish Tacos with Rice and
Beans. 2,100 calories, 130 g fat, 169 g carbs, 4,700 mg sodium.
Perhaps the most misleadingly named dish in America : A dozen crunchy
tacos from Taco Bell will saddle you with fewer calories.

5: Worst pizza - Uno Chicago Grill Chicago Classic Deep Dish Pizza.
2,310 calories, 162 g fat, 123 g carbs, 4,470 mg sodium. Downing
this "personal" pizza is equivalent to eating 18 slices of Domino's
Crunchy Thin Crust cheese pizza.

4: Worst pasta - Macaroni Grill Spaghetti and Meatballs with Meat
Sauce. 2,430 calories, 128 g fat, 207 g carbs, 5,290 mg sodium. This
meal satisfied your calorie requirements for an entire day.

3: Worst nachos - On the Border Stacked Border Nachos. 2,740
calories, 166 g fat, 191 g carbs, 5,280 sodium.

2: Worst starter - Chili's Awesome Blossom. 2,710 calories, 203 g
fat, 194 g carbs, 6,360 mg sodium.

1: The worst food in America - Outback Steakhouse Aussie Cheese Fries
with Ranch Dressing. 2,900 calories, 182 g fat, 240 g carbs. Even if
you split these "starters" with three friends, you'll have downed a
dinner's worth of calories before you entree arrives

Favorite Baked Goods

So here's the deal. I am procrastinating (putting off studying for finals), bored, and majorly craving chocolate chip cookies. So I thought I'd see what you all like ... maybe get some good ideas for new sweets to try!!

I love: chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, chocolate cake, my mom's homemade ice cream, my grandmother's homemade peanut brittle, brownies, and the list goes on and on. I don't like pie though

Here is a tip for you for really good gooey brownies - make according to directions but add 1 tablespoon of syrup (can be regular or clear - Karo syrup). Bake according to directions. It makes super good gooey brownies

.... now I am really craving some sort of sweets!! ... Off to see what I can scrounge up

Under Soapbox Mama
With autumn all around us, this is the perfect time for a hodgepodge of great and fun things all about leaves, colors and the essence of autumn. Enjoy!

Crafts

Hand print and finger print crafts always make wonderful keepsakes. Here’s a fun way to celebrate the coming of Autumn while preserving your child’s size and age at the same time.

What you’ll need:
• White construction paper or card stock
• Orange construction paper
• Scissors
• Acrylic or poster paint in green, brown, orange, yellow, tan and red
• White craft glue

How to make it:

1. Line work surface with newspaper and place white construction paper in the center.

2. Start by showing the child where you want to place his/her arm on the paper, you will be painting the bottom of the forearm, palm and all fingers.

3. Use brown paint to cover bottom of forearm, palm and all fingers, use a generous amount.

4. Help child carefully lay their arm and fingers down on the paper, fingers extended. Hand should go in the center of the paper to allow room for the leaves. Gently press down and roll each finger, palm and arm onto the paper. Lift arm straight up into the air.

5. Wash paint off arm and hand and dry completely.

6. Place a nickel sized amount of each color paint into a paper plate. Have child dip their finger into the paint and onto the paper creating leaves of all different colors. The fingers on the paper are the branches, so put the leaves at the end of the branches and all around them.

7. Use a paint brush to add some grass at the bottom of the tree.

8. For older kids, add a few flowers in the grass. Use a small dot of paint on their finger to create the center and flower petals. You can even add a little squirrel in the tree by dotting on a head, body and tail! Use a black marker to dot on the eye. You can also add a few “falling leaves” by dotting two or three colors falling from the branches and use a marker to add a few squiggly lines indicating motion.

9. Make a frame from the orange construction paper by gluing around the back edge of the picture.

Tips:
• This project has fun variations for Spring as well. Make all the leaves green using two or more shades, then add red dots for apples or white and pink dots for flowers. Use a construction paper color for the frame to match the season.
• It’s best to show children a finished project first so that they understand what they are trying to create. This will make it easier to envision their own picture.
• Be sure to have a bowl of water and some paper towels handy for cleaning off fingers.

This craft activity is from one of my favorite sites, Kaboose. Thanks to Amanda Formaro for the great idea.

Cooking

For those who love pumpkin, I am sure you won’t be able to resist this recipe.
This recipe is from Debbie Vassil who submitted it to How To Eat a Cupcake.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Makes 23 cookies (11 pies + 1 leftover cookie to eat!)

1 1/4 cups + 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (2 3/4 cups)
1 teaspoon baking powder (2 tsp)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda (1 tsp)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (4 1/2 tsp)
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (1 1/2 tsp)
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (1 1/2 tsp)
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (1/2 tsp)
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temp (2 1/2 sticks)
1/2 cup sugar (1 1/2 cups)
1 tablespoon molasses (3 Tbsp)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (2 tsp)
2 large eggs (4)
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) (1 1/4 cups)
1/4 cup buttermilk (1/2 cup)

Spiced Cream Cheese Filling (my own recipe)

4 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 stick unsalted butter, softened
2 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of nutmeg, ginger, and cloves

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Whisk dry ingredients (except sugar) together in a medium bowl.
Using electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, molasses and vanilla in large bowl to blend. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating until blended after each addition. Add pumpkin puree.
Mix in dry ingredients in 3 additions alternately with buttermilk in 2 additions, beating until just combined.
Line large baking sheets with parchment paper. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart, leaving enough room for dough to spread.
Bake for 13 minutes, or until cake springs back when lightly pressed in the center. Cool completely on wire racks before filling.
To make the filling, beat cream cheese and butter together on medium speed until blended. Add sugar and spices. Beat just until thickened and well blended.

I rolled some in toasted chopped pecans and some in mini chocolate chips. They’d also be super good topped with dried cranberries like those raisin creme pies you can get at the grocery store. Thanks Debbie, these were SO great! There were no leftovers!

Ingredients

After letting the electric mixer do most of the work, I like to finish the batter by hand.

I used a medium (#30) cookie scoop to make sure they were all the same size.

While they were cooling, the house smelled SO nice!

Tada! Autumn deliciousness!

Of course with the amazing colors donning the trees comes the fun and delight of cleaning all the leaves. Since most of don’t have the handy-dandy leaf blowers of the professionals, here are some useful tips to make raking leaves fun and enjoyable.

Cleaning

First of all, get your kids and have them join you. Just being outside with your children on a crisp fall day will feel good and make the task feel more like fun then work.

Make sure you have a proper rake that is strong and in good condition. Often this tool is left laying in the garage awaiting those few times it is used. An old rank can bend or break under pressure. Invest in one with wide tines that bend slightly and has a good sweep.

As for sweeps, shorts strokes are more effective than long ones. They gather more leaves, using less energy.
Make sure to rake with the wind, not against it.

Start at one end of the yard and work backwards, closest to the area where you can clean up and dispose of the debris. Then create small piles that are easy to gather and put in bags.

Designate your first pile as the one and only pile the kids can play in.

Bring with you your camera or video camera for some really great pictures filled with happy smiles and vibrant fall hues.
