HERE’S how I learned to make cocktails. Some years ago, I discovered mojitos, which I liked a lot, at least when they were made well.

At the end of a long day, it's always nice to come home and relax, particularly when that relaxation involves a bathtub, a glass of wine, and some music. It's the best way to destress and wash away all your cares of the day, particularly during the summer.
So, tonight, after you walk in the door and kick off your shoes, take an hour or so and treat yourself to a little time in the tub.

Holleighz’ 52 Weeks of Baking – Week 5: Asian Spice Cupcakes with Individual Black Pearls
(Yes, I do realize that this is becoming “52 Weeks of Cupcakes”…)

Somewhere, I heard rumor of black pearl chips, a mixture of dark chocolate and wasabi, and I scoured every Asian grocery in the city for months with no luck. When I came across this recipe for a black pearl layer cake, I was instantly intrigued – it had the same flavor combination in a rich ganache.

Holleighz’ 52 Weeks of Baking – Week 3: Lemon Drop Cupcakes
Earlier this week, my mom celebrated her birthday, and she had one special request – cupcakes from me. Since she lives states away and cupcakes are not exactly the most shippable pastry, this meant a flawless original recipe. Her favorite flavor is vanilla, but she saw my vanilla bean cupcakes already.

Orange Blossom Sour Cream Pound Cake
Adapted from Sour Cream Pound Cake at The Wandering Eater
This recipe whips up a lot of extra batter. I had enough for the loaf as well as 10 cupcakes. Also, the orange blossom flavor was very subtle and only noticeable in the crust - an additional bit of orange extract or fresh orange peel would have been good.
