A SYDNEY couple has withdrawn their two children from a public primary school, claiming their 11-year-old son was bullied by Muslim students because he ate a salami sandwich during Ramadan.
Andrew Grigoriou said yesterday he complained to the school and to police after his son Antonios was chased and later assaulted by Muslim students after a confrontation over the contents of his lunch, The Daily Telegraphreports.
Antonios, a Year 5 student of Greek-Australian background at Punchbowl Public School in Sydney's southwest, said he and a friend had to be locked inside the library for an hour after being chased by a group of Muslim boys offended by his choice of food while they were fasting.

Growing up my mom would make home made creamed corn on holidays or special occasions. She would cut the tips of the fresh corn then scrape the remainder into a bowl. Just to get a bowl full for a meal, she would have to use about 30 ears of corn.

Right-wing women rock
Looking at the shoes tells a lot about a female's political persuasion
By IAN ROBINSON
The recent election of Danielle Smith as leader of the Wildrose Alliance reminded me that among the many things I love about the libertarian/right wing are the women.
Could be our slogan: Come for the culture war ...

When Beard Papa first came to the Bay Area everyone freaked out saying it was the "new" Krispy Kreme. In fact, one of my friends even said she could eat one of their creme puffs everyday. Needless to say, that urgency has subsided with most people after learning they are, well, just creme puffs.

How healthy is the lunch your child is eating at school? It's a big question this fall, with a new report that about one out of every three kids is overweight. But our local schools are working hard to teach kids to eat right.

I'm breaking my rule on youTube (because I can :raspberry: ) because the post discusses the video and there's no point in saying Franken calmed the crowd and not letting you judge the video yourselves.
Blogger Dusty Trice posted yesterday about Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) talking healthcare reform opponents away from the deep end ledge at the Minnesota State Fair:
Here's what Trice wrote about the experience:
"About a dozen tea party activists had staked out Sen.

This is a cake I just made for my boyfriend's birthday. White cake, mocha chocolate filling, covered with thin layer of butter cream and marshmallow fondant. All of the accents are in fondant except for the "grill grates" which I used lollypop sticks.

Yes it is time to look at moderation and before you get worried about being limited... forcably... I ask you if this does indeed need to be something forced?

More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that’s not only better, but also more directly involves me.
Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun."
