When she signed on to play vampire Alice Cullen in the Twilight series, Ashley Greene didn't realize what she was getting herself into. "There are so many fans, paparazzi everywhere. It's kind of nuts to go from 0 to 60 in a year," she says.

Hello Apple ... bye-bye brown rice.
Becoming a mom made Gwyneth Paltrow abandon her famously strict diet, she says.

Tandoori turkey in the oven
For a few years now I've wanted to try to marry the traditional Southern Indian food my husband grew up enjoying with Thanksgiving as I know it (Southern girl with a love of spice and heat).
So this year I did a trial run of a tandoori-style turkey made in the oven. By next year I hope to build my own tandoor, or at least grill this guy, because it needs a little more heat to crisp up properly.

Most of my life I've often wondered why Thanksgiving seemed to be for many families a trigger word for family dysfuction. Why individuals couldn't just let that disagreement with another family member go for one bloody day and enjoy some good food and conversation with more pleasant family members. I have to keep reminding my self that I'm pragmatic by nature and that is apparently unusual.
I found an article with some helpful tips.
Holidays are meant to be happy, joyous and life-affirming times.

Poor me, I’m one of those sad ladies you see looking through boutique shop windows wanting to buy all the clothes and shoes (and winter coats) that my heart desires.
Alas, my bank account often screams to me from the hole in the wall on the other side of the road – don’t you bloody dare.
Fortunately I have some degree of self control and therefore end up spending my dosh on food – and that’s not doing much for my thighs!
Please tell me I am not the only one who refuses to spend money on what I cant afford.

Every story has a beginning, i guess this is how everything started for me.
Ever felt that your teenage life was the most mundane, colorless and lifeless? Ever felt that you don't belong no matter how hard you tried to reach out?

Maybe I'm being irrational, but I'd like to submit for everyone a problem I have with my boyfriend. I don't need to, but I'll start by saying he's a great guy... tells me every day he loves me, is always very respectful and appreciative for the things I do for him. However, we are at different levels of comfort with roommate situations.

I love soup. Like, really really love it. I could eat it for every meal, every day of the week. And any kind of soup too--I don't think I've met a soup I didn't like. (Well, maybe if it was made with beets. But you never know!) The problem is I'm always so busy I never have a chance to cook for myself. I often find myself turning to canned chicken noodle soup from Cambells. Without a doubt, that's my comfort food and I'll never tire of it, but it's so much more fun to make your own! So I've decided to challenge myself. Each week I will make a new soup. I have tons of cookbooks to scour, so finding recipes shouldn't be a problem. I'll post my adventures here, and hopefully I'll inspire someone else!
(FYI: I started this little project during the first few days of October, so these first few posts will be catch-up. Plus, I didn't think to take pictures until recently, so for now most will be picture-less.)

This goes along with the story that I posted in 4.0 about Meatless Mondays in Baltimore schools
Jon Stewart ended an interview with climate-change contrarian and Super Freakonomics co-author Steven Levitt on Monday night by noting, "I've apparently frightened our audience by suggesting that conservation isn't the only way out of any of the problems of the world. I sincerely apologize."
He added, "And I do also believe that we should just eat vegetables."
