In my latest issue of Domino magazine, there was a little blurb about Savon de Marseille Laundry Flakes. Apparently, the woman who wrote the feature said that using these flakes made her laundry brighter, softer, and more fragrant than any other detergent she's used.
At $19.50, they're not cheap, but they come in a cute muslin sack.

Top Five Priciest Restaurants
Masa, New York City
Alinea, Chicago
Canlis, Seattle
Joel Robuchon at the Mansion, Las Vegas
Urasawa, Los Angeles
As the restaurant critic for The Seattle Times, Nancy Leson knows her way around the coastal city's restaurant scene. When it was time to treat her husband on his birthday, she took him to Canlis the city's most expensive a la carte restaurant.
For once, the meal was entirely on her dime “and it was worth every penny of it,” she says.

I ran across this article, and thought it might prompt some interesting discussions.
I've said for a few years now that the women's movement of the 1970's ultimately did us no favors; it just overburdened us with impossible workloads and insane expectations, and made us feel we should be grateful for them.
This is a bit long, but is a quick read.

After the incident with his Egyptians Salah hired 4 Tuaregs. Those felt somehow insecure in the beginning because they had been working in older bakeries only. Their bread was much better, crispier, more pep; yet Salah thought that it was too salty; an opinion I did not share.

Autumn’s golden hues set the tone for an exhilarating outdoor adventure.
Fall foliage is at its peak. Why not treat yourself to a long hike under an autumn canopy of red, orange and gold?
