Ella and Marilyn. With Black History month being February, I thought this would be a fitting blog for me to post about Marilyn. She made great big steps toward embracing diversity and would not tolerate any type of discrimination in her life. That's beauty to me.

:star: She is famous for her lovely blonde locks, but did you know that Marilyn Monroe, formerly known as Norma Jeane Dougherty, was reluctant to dye her hair from its natural color? She was advised by the Blue Book Modeling agency in 1946 to dye her hair lighter because it would be more appealing on her and would probably lead to more jobs for her in Hollywood. She was a feminist at heart and did not want to stray too far from her natural look...interesting isn't it?

Each day features a new fun fact illustrated on a bright background. For example: "The film Titanic cost more than the Titanic itself," and, "Penguins are able to jump two meters high."
