My friends and I made these cupcakes and had everyone ice and top their own. Everyone really enjoyed their cupcakes. We only made the ganache icing so I can't vouch for the buttercream filling.

My best friend is a master chef and baker, although I hardly ever get to try her delights because whenever we do have a chance to catch up we opt to go out to dinner so neither of us has to do any work...and because we are both Thai food freaks and know we will never make it as good as the place around the corner from her house.
She made this three layer chocolate cake with one white cake layer in the middle(she admitted that she cheats and uses box mix) for a recent birthday celebration.
She filled chocolate raspberry moose in between the layers and made white chocolate ganache frosting with chocolate shaving around the edge and raspberries around the sides.

Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that has a strange and murky history. Nobody knows for sure how it began, but the two most common tales are rather interesting. Some believe it is based on the life of Saint Valentine who in third century Rome was ordered to be put be put to death by Emperor Claudius II for secretly performing marriages for young lovers after Claudius had outlawed marriage for young men – his crop of potential soldiers.

I made this yummy cake for my bf's birthday! Doesnt it look gourmet? Well, except for the mess I made on the parchment paper...

Holleighz’ 52 Weeks of Baking – Week 5: Asian Spice Cupcakes with Individual Black Pearls
(Yes, I do realize that this is becoming “52 Weeks of Cupcakes”…)
I’m a huge fan of the recent trend of combining chocolate and exotic spices. Somewhere, I heard rumor of black pearl chips, a mixture of dark chocolate and wasabi, and I scoured every Asian grocery in the city for months with no luck. When I came across this recipe for a black pearl layer cake, I was instantly intrigued – it had the same flavor combination in a rich ganache.

On Saturday night I was catering a dinner party that my mom was hosting. She doesn't cook so I was doing it all on Saturday. I wanted to make the chocolate puds I saw featured here but I was in a rush to get the groceries when I realized I would have to convert the measurements.

My sister is a peanut butter/chocolate-aholic so when I made cupcakes to sell at her Kappa Kup BBQ, I decided to give this recipe a try. I got super worried half way through because the cake itself wasn't very sweet tasting and kind of blahhy. But once they are filled with the peanut butter filling and frosted with the chocolate ganache frosting (this is my new favorite recipe for chocolate icing!) they were spectacular.

I made this cake today for a christmas party. It's a white chocolate cake with rasberry filling. Then I iced it with buttercream and poured ganache over the top.
