Mashed Old Fashioned East Coast Style
Adapted from a drink by Scott at Perbacco
1 slice orange
1 slice blood orange
2 brandied cherries
1 tsp fine sugar (or small sugar cube)
1-2 dashes of bitters
2 oz bourbon or rye (see note*)
ginger ale
In a chilled old fashioned glass, muddle oranges, cherries, sugar and bitters. Add ice, pour whiskey over it and stir. Top off with a quality ginger ale (this is what Scott says makes it "East Coast").

I realize this not really savory but I loved this can. Please take note of the extended bar code that is serving! Very Clever

I'm not big on perfumes that smell, you know, perfumey. I like to smell more like SOMETHING in particular, whether it's vanilla, lavender, citrus, etc.
Demeter makes amazing fragrances that smell like STUFF.

Inside Out - Eve 6
[Chorus]
I would swallow my pride
I would choke on the rhines
But the lack thereof would leave me empty inside
I would swallow my doubt
turn it inside out find nothing but faith in nothing
Want to put my tender heart in a blender
Watch it spin round to a beautiful oblivion
Rendezvous then I'm through with you
I burn burn like a wicker cabinet
chalk white and oh so frail
I see out time has gotten stale
The tick tock of the clock is painful
All sane and logical
I want to tear it off the wall
I hear words and clips
and phrases I think sick like ginger ale
My stomach turns and I exhale
[Chorus]
So Cal is where my mind states
but it's not my state of mind
I'm not as ugly sad as you
Or am I origami
folded up and just pretend
demented as the motives in your head
[Chorus]
I alone am the one you don't know you
need me take heed feed your ego
Make me blind when your eyes close sink when you get close tie me to the bedpost
I alone am the one you don't know you
need me take heed feed your ego
Make me blind when your eyes close sink when you get close tie me to the bedpost
[Chorus]

- You show people where you're from by pointing to a spot on the back
of your left hand. (Especially useful if you're from the Thumb or the
Little Finger.)
- The only place in the world can you experience
all four seasons in one day.
- You know what a 'party store' is.

I originally wrote this for a friend's blog on cooking:
Hell is a tentscape in Faux BelAire. Actually, I believe that this episode demonstrated the Sandra Lee version of Dante's circles of hell (OK, Sandra Lee's Semi Circles of Hell...)
Circle 5: The Circle of Corn Kebabs. What the hell was UP with that?

He's been hanging out in New York for a few days, and already Owen Wilson is becoming a familiar face at city hot spots – from lunching downtown at Café Habana to dining at Graydon Carter's Waverly Inn with Sting and Lance Armstrong.
And that was just Tuesday.
On Thursday night, the recovering star made an appearance at the Gramercy Park Hotel's swanky Rose Bar after midnight.
