I made Yum's insanely good mac 'n' cheese recipe in some ramekins my mother in law gave me for creme brulee. The little tart-size dishes made the meal extra cute, and I substituted bacon for walnuts for extra yumminess. The combo of sharp gorgonzola, crisp apples and rich bacon was so good, literally one of the most delish things I've ever tasted, and I never would have thought of it on my own.

A couple weeks ago I went to lunch at a deli down the street from my work and had the most delicious Tomato Gorgonzola soup. I decided to try and make it myself. I scoured the internet for a recipe and ended up mixing several together to make this one.

'tis the season for fantastic food
and can i say how much i absolutely love it when the best thing that i have eaten in recent memory is something that i actually made myself?
granted, that's not the biggest accomplishment ever. because i naturally will know what i expect to enjoy before choosing a recipe.

I had this at a local restaurant and BOY was it good. I know it might be a bit involved for home cooking, but a special occasion deserves a special recipe. And really, gnocchi with any sauce is good.

I think I copied this from a sandwich I bought somewhere but it's pretty darned good.
Ingredients:
French baguette, split in two for a sandwich portion
Handful of arugula
Vinaigrette of extra virgin olive oil, Balsamic vinegar, cracked pepper
Crumbled Gorgonzola
Thinly sliced Prosciutto di Parma
So right before you put the sandwich together, dress the arugula with the vinaigrette. Add Gorgonzola and Prosciutto slices and chow down.

This time the sad umbrella was not planned. It just happened to be in the photo. Has absolutely nothing to do with the outfit, but it reminded me of Mary Poppins.

Aside from the standard lettuce (what type do you use?), tomato and cucumber slices, what do you like in your salad (including those 3 previously mentioned items) ?
My salads are made of: romaine lettuce, some iceberg lettuce, shredded raw carrots, cucumber slices, tomato, raw onion slices, sometimes raw almonds or plain soy nuts and I rarely use dressing (if I do include dressing I use those Salad Spritzers.)Also, I sometimes add garbonzo & kidney beans, maybe some gorgonzola cheese crubs.

The Morning Glory Cafe at the Farm
In southern Phoenix there is a place called The Farm at South Mountain. It is an actual farm that grows vegetables and it is surrounded by pecan trees. You will feel a million miles away from the city!!

If you've never been to the Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego, then you're missing out. It's one of my favorite places to hang out--friendly with a hip young crowd and lively.

Okay I am planning a bbq to celebrate my 32nd birthday in July. I usually get very obsessed with planning the menu and start making lists way in advance. So far here are my thoughts.
