The massacre at Fort Hood last week is the perfect apotheosis of the liberal victimology described in my book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America." According to witnesses, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan entered a medical facility at Fort Hood, prayed briefly, then shouted "Allahu akbar" before he began gunning down American troops. Now I don't know which to be more afraid of: Muslims or government-run health care systems.

Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner urged Congress on Wednesday to adopt the Obama administration’s proposals to overhaul financial regulation, warning that the system was still fraught with the same problems that helped to create last year’s financial crisis.
“The flaws in our financial system and regulatory framework that allowed this crisis to occur, and in many ways helped cause it, are still in place,” Mr. Geithner said in prepared remarks to the House Financial Services Committee.

Across the Middle East, what would never happen in polite company now appears on broadcasts of The Doha Debates – discussion of controversy.
Doha, Qatar; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
As soon as the cameramen called it a wrap, the audience swarmed onto the TV studio set. Almost giddy with delight, several university students from Saudi Arabia went straight for chairs vacated by the performers and pretended to be stars of the show.
