As if the onion dicing incident wasn't enough, before he taught me the dicing method (that everyone in the world apparently knew - except me...) The chef also gave me a lesson in "knife skills." Sheesh!

In honor of Reading Is Sexy's grand opening, I'm going to start off with the series that's has been holding me in a chockhold for going on 10 years now.
Nora Roberts, writing as JD Robb in her not so far distant future has captured my attention since my very good friend lend me a copy of the 1st of the series, Naked In Death. That copy started me on my 10 year journey of hunting and gathering mission to find and read every one of the books in the series.

A NATION OF COWARDS
Jeffrey R. Snyder
OUR SOCIETY has reached a pinnacle of self-expression and respect for individuality rare or unmatched in history. Our entire popular culture -- from fashion magazines to the cinema -- positively screams the matchless worth of the individual, and glories in eccentricity, nonconformity, independent judgment, and self-determination.

This Spring I've been looking for healthy dinner ideas that are different, tasty, and healthy. I was delighted to find this recipe for spaghetti with summer squash and peppers. Granted, it's not the easiest to make (in terms of cutting and slicing all the veggies) but it's really filling, super tasty, and definitely worth putting your knife skills to work.

After nearly a decade of resistance, knowing that the adaptation could never live up to the source material, I finally decided to watch the 1998 film version of Honore de Balzac's 1888 novel, Cousin Bette.
The closing credits rolled more than an hour ago. I still feel soiled.
