Dolly Parton has been in the business since basically the beginning of time so she knows quite well the damage that the gossip mill can do. That's why, at a concert last night, she said we should all lay off Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.
"Poor little Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan," Parton said at her concert last night at L.A.'s Greek Theatre.

Eva Longoria was spotted out last week wearing a t-shirt with the moronic saying “I Want More Privacy.” It was widely thought to be her response to the near-constant rumors that she’s pregnant. Longoria uses the press whenever she needs some publicity but gets annoyed when it turns against her. She’s gained a small amount of weight and prefers to wear looser clothing, which keeps the pregnancy speculation going.

With Cameron gone, the new (old) team is still working out the kinks in this week's House — and it feels like the writers aren't sure where the show's going either. The episode tackles a genius patient with what appears to be TTP, Thanksgiving, and House and Cuddy all in one swoop. And while the doc is back to acting like a selfish jerk following his recent good behavior, I didn't even find his quips that amusing.

Prince William and Prince Harry understand the concept of noblesse oblige. The royal brothers have set up a grant-giving foundation to help young people, wounded servicemen and women, and help sustainable development at home and abroad. William, 27, and Harry, 25, kicked-started it with some of the money they inherited from their mother, Princess Diana, who died in August 1997.

Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties experienced the highest unemployment rates in the state in October, suggesting that area workers are poised to suffer through a harsh winter economically.
The region's unemployment rate this time of year is usually higher than in the rest of New Jersey because of tourism's seasonal work cycle. But the numbers are significantly worse than they were a year ago.

The only good news out of the Fort Hood massacre is that U.S. electronic surveillance technology was able to pick up Major Hasan's phone calls to an al Qaeda-loving imam in Yemen. The bad news is the people and agencies listening to Hasan didn't know what to do about it.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — A beverage company has asked a team to drill through Antarctica's ice for a lost cache of some vintage Scotch whisky that has been on the rocks since a century ago.
The drillers will be trying to reach two crates of McKinlay and Co. whisky that were shipped to the Antarctic by British polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton as part of his abandoned 1909 expedition.

Couples are partners in crime, but when it comes to parenting they sometimes have to take on the roles of good cop/bad cop to keep their brood in line. If you and your spouse play opposing roles in dealing with your kids, you’re in good company, as it seems that someone has to lay down the law. No matter what your method of discipline, are you the disciplinarian in the family or is your partner?
