As an artist, illustrator, and designer garnering most of my work from one end of the fashion industry or another, I’ve often thought about launching my own line of apparel. The issues arose when I started to see exactly how much waste is involved in the various processes and on the production line itself.
As if my own experience wasn’t enough, this report from the EPA further fueled my interest in creating a line of sustainable fashions that would not only benefit the environment but help others as well.

On Wednesday, July 25, CasaSugar posted the Midday Muse: Midday Muse: Fun Retro Florals and posed the question, "How could you use this idea in a room?"
As it happens, we've been working on our living room as well and I was stuck for a piece of artwork that would work above the sofa.

Back in July of 2007, Casa posted a Midday Muse featuring a retro-floral card design complete with a challenge to incorporate the idea into a room.
We were working on our living room at the time and I was seriously stuck for a piece of artwork that would work above the sofa. But Casa's challenge inspired me well and the solution to my creative dilema was handily presented.

This is the original canvas, inspired by CasaSugar.
::: Mod Mix ::: Acrylic on Canvas 48"W x 24" H
I am so loving how this turned out and translated from canvas to wearable art.
::: Mixology II ::: Hand-painted skirt designed from a recycled t-shirt.
