Tandoori turkey in the oven
For a few years now I've wanted to try to marry the traditional Southern Indian food my husband grew up enjoying with Thanksgiving as I know it (Southern girl with a love of spice and heat).
So this year I did a trial run of a tandoori-style turkey made in the oven. By next year I hope to build my own tandoor, or at least grill this guy, because it needs a little more heat to crisp up properly.

I didn't get a chance to see every one of these bands, but given the super human ability to be in two places at once, I would have seen the following today. Will speak on the shows I did see after the videos...
School of Seven Bells - Half Asleep
My future lover; Hamilton Leithauser with his Walkmen - Wake up
The Walkmen - Four Provinces

The American fast-food giant McDonald's has lost an eight-year legal battle to prevent a Malaysian restaurant calling itself McCurry. McDonald's argued that the use of the "Mc" prefix infringed its trademark.
But the Federal Court in Kuala Lumpur ruled that there was no evidence to show McCurry was trying to pass itself off as part of the McDonald's empire.

I've always been scared to try cooking Indian food even though we LOVE it, but I've been experimenting this week. Yesterday, I made the Chicken Tikka Masala that Whip posted. It was really good!

One of my favourite meals to make is Butter Chicken (also called Indian Butter Chicken--but after being told off by an Indian woman, I dropped the Indian part).
Here's my recipe, you can add as much or as little spice as you want. I serve this with basmati rice, naan bread, mango chutney and raita (which my husband LOVES).

Tried to be a lot healthier tonight so I decided to make rajma, an Indian dish. Started off with lots o' onions, whole cumin, cardamon, cloves, dried red chilis, cinnamon, and bay leaves.
Cooked everything but the onions a bit too long (supposed to do under 2 minutes) then added minced garlic/ginger and the onions.
