I wanted to share my Thanksgiving menu and see if you had any ideas and/or advice. This is the first year we are going to deep-fry our bird.

I needed a cake for our Memorial Day weekend so I thought it'd be neat to make my own cake homemade. It's actually fairly easy too.
3/4 cup butter, softened
3 eggs
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 vanilla
1 1/4 cups milk
Directions
Allow butter and eggs to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Rabid's Lolita Brownies
Calling any food "wicked" is not really my style...to me, what actually is wicked is corporatised food, hurried, rushed, unloved food. Food that fails to satisfy. Food under false pretences.

Ok, I was going to wait until we got closer to the holidays to put this up. But, a friend asked me to email it to her. So, while I was at it, here ya go.

From my Dear Friend Sharon :)
PECANS IN THE CEMETERY
On the outskirts of a small town, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts.
'One for you, one for me.
