For YumSugar's candy challenge, my friend (and user) Beamer1 and I got together to make these cute, candy-filled phyllo purses. Most of them are filled with homemade chocolate dipping sauce, Milky Ways, 3Musketeers, Snickers, Twix, chocolate Twizzlers, cookie dough bites, caramels, etc. Everything was cut up kinda small and put in each miniature purse!

Greece is a land of vibrant cuisine. It is food that is neither spicy nor bland, but rich in the flavors of the Mediterranean. It is comfort food in the truest sense of the word.

This past weekend, my boyfriend and I set out to test run and invent our dessert for Thanksgiving!

I've always enjoyed spanakopita (Greek spinach pie) but I've never made it. But I just found this recipe in "I Like You: Hospitality Under The Influence" by Amy Sedaris. It looks pretty easy, so I think I'll have to give it a shot.

I find Greek cuisine as one of the heartiest and healthiest food choices all around. And recently, one of our Greek friends just had her birthday and it was a no-brainer to check out Petros as it was just named "Top New Restaurant" by Zagat (and rightfully so).

This was SO delicious, and only 120 calories per serving!
I am in culinary school and yesterday I had my Nutritional Cooking class. We worked on Salads, Soups and Appetizers and as soon as I saw this on our production list, I said I would make it (due to my love for goat cheese).

On Friday night, my friend had a girls-only Christmas cookie and cocktail party. I knew that there would be plenty of sweets and rich drinks (egg nog, sweet cider, etc.) there, so I decided to bring a savory snack instead of a sweet one.
I'd planned on making LaylaCams' delicious-sounding Pepperoni Sacks (http://teamsugar.com/group/30207/recipes/83353) but the ghetto-ass supermarket in my neighborhood didn't sell the frozen dough.
