I admit to what may be my first offense - I bought this wine because of the See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil monkeys on the label. Nonetheless, I had high expectations for this wine, and poured myself a generous glass after a long day at work. I just wanted to jot down this highly recommended wine. It is one of the finest I've had the pleasure to enjoy for a very long time. I chose this wine without much thought, and was surprised to find out it was actually one of the reserves.1998 Kistler Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Its a big, juicy pinot, but I was a little dissapointed that after almost a decade in the cellar, the wine has not developed ANY of the characteristics of a well bottle aged burgundy. Maybe the fruit forward cali style doesn't really change like a traditionally made burgundy?
