Disney packed a great panel this year with two highly anticipated films!
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
A panel of crew members, mostly visual effects and costumes, were on hand and director Andrew Adamson was live via satellite from Prague to show us some footage from the film. They showed some pre-viz animation and a trailer they'd put together with unfinished effects that looked amazing.

I see every Pixar movie in theaters, so I saw this one back in June. Somewhere inside of me is a 5 year old kid that needs her Disney movies. With this flick, it wasn’t just the little kid that was entertained, but the 24 year old as well.

When I saw extended footage from WALL-E at Comic-con in 2007, there was no doubt in my mind that I would adore it. A sucker for any animated film, most particularly PIXAR, I was there one year later when the film opened in theaters.
In a scarily realistic future, the Earth has been abandoned by humans, leaving robots behind to clean up their mess.

This category often has a hard time racking up nominees as while there is almost always one or two fantastic animated films a year, they often have to work hard to find a third. This year all the nominations are strong, but Pixar stands to take it's throne back after losing it to the likes of Happy Feet and Shrek. The nominations are:
Persepolis
Ratatouille
Surf's Up
Prediction
Ratatouille.

2007
Written and Directed by Brad Bird
Starring (voices): Patton Oswalt, Lou Romano, Janeane Garafolo, Brad Garrett, Ian Holm, and Peter O'Toole
Ratatouille is the story of Remy (Oswalt), a rat who lives in France. While the rest of his fellow rats are happy scrounging for garbage and scraps to eat, Remy enjoys fine foods and has a gift for combining flavors to make things delicious. One day, Remy is separated from his family and ends up in Paris, at the restaurant of his deceased idol, Chef Gusteau (Garrett), whose motto was "Anyone can cook."

An absolute delight. This is the story of Remy, a rat who can cook, and Linguine, a boy who cannot. The plot is the classic Disney formula; a buddy movie about two underdogs who team up and triumph.

I was so glad to see the shorts again this year. It makes the ceremony so much more interesting when I know everything I can about all the nominees. Interesting fact about all the animated selections this year- there’s not a single word of dialogue amongst them.
