I'm a huge fan of Trader Joes' Steel Cut Oatmeal because it tastes more natural than most instant varieties, but I'm always looking for a way to dress it up. I usually pick raisins or raspberries, but this week I picked up a package of pomegranate seeds (Trader Joes sells them). They are tasty, colorful, seasonal and full of antioxidants.

I debated whether or not to post these cupcakes. They’re not bad. They might even be good.

4 tbsp. orange-flavor liqueur

Fesenjan (Persian Pomegranate Stew with Chicken and Walnuts)
This thick stew makes a really delicious meal when served over rice and with pitas, feta and mint leaves on the side.
Cooking Note: To achieve the slow fusing of flavors that characterizes khoresh, it is best to cook it in a heavy pot. I recommend a classic Dutch oven, but a solid hefty stew pot will do.

Only days ago, Jessica Alba was the poster girl for the “bronde” trend — dark-haired women lightening their locks to a caramel shade somewhere right in the middle of the blonde-brunette spectrum. But now she’s gone into the red.
If you also want to let your feisty inner redhead out, we’ve found some products that will help you get — and maintain — a red mane.
Pair that red ‘do with the best mascara out there, and keep your dyed locks from drying out with a full range of dry hair repair.

Since I saw some of you ladies ask, here are some recipes that I use in my homemade care.
My oil staples are: Vitamin E oil (it's a natural preservative), virgin coconut oil, avocado oil, lemon oil (to fade discoloration), Evoo, peppermint oil, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oils as a carrier oil.
My other staples are: Shea butter, honey, mayonnaise, coconut milk, eggs (be careful though with the eggs.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is objecting “in the strongest terms” to an Associated Press decision to transmit a photograph showing a mortally wounded 21-year-old Marine in his final moments of life, calling the decision “appalling” and a breach of “common decency.”
The AP reported that the Marine’s father had asked – in an interview and in a follow-up phone call — that the image, taken by an embedded photographer, not be published.
The photo shows Lance Cpl. Joshua M.
