If you love pumpkin, you won't need to wait until pumpkin harvest to try this first course soup. Since it's made with canned pumpkin, you can enjoy it all year long. If you add Chicken Popovers (also included in this Heart Healthy Recipes group), a side salad, and a glass of cabernet sauvignon, you have a full-course Heart Healthy meal!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I had the honor of cooking dinner for a small group of four people. The meal was vegetarian (actually vegan, except for one dessert), mostly organic, with no added sugar and nothing refined.

Okay, so I can't seem to stop thinking of pumpkins since we have two huge ones to cook and one to decorate. I was looking for a good pumpkin soup recipe and came across this desert. It sounds pretty good so I thought I'd share it.

So I was with the grandmothers today so I could finally learn how to cook Haitian and Vietnamese meals. I learned how to make Griot, which is a staple Haitian meal that's made with Fried Plantains, Fried chunks of pork and it's served with something called Pikleze, which is basically a really spicy coleslaw, and rice & beans. I also learned how to make Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Beef Noodle Pho, and Go Ro Ti.

Just in time for Halloween ;) I decided to find out what's so great about pumpkins? I don't know about you, but I haven't met a pumpkin I didn't like: pie, cookies, soup etc.
Pumpkin meat is very high in carotenoids.
