These darling little sugar cookies, decorated to look like reindeers, are simply delightful for the holidays. Kids love shaping them and adding pretzels for antlers and bright red M&Ms noses to guide Santa's way.
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 cups flour (scant)
pretzel pieces
red and green M&Ms candies
mixer
large bowl
measuring spoons
measuring cups

She had a holly jolly Christmas and it was definitely the best time of our year. As the sky grew dark, our wee one peered out into the sky looking for Santa and his reindeer. Every year I try to take a picture of my babies in front of our Christmas tree.

This Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer lamp is kind of a gem. I found it in this amazing Flickr set called the fairy-tale house. But the lamp obviously wouldn't integrate easily into most "mature" homes.

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, they all had antlers so.......
