AUSTIN – Eight months into Barack Obama’s presidency, as criticism of his administration seems to reach new levels of volume and intensity each week, the whispers among some of his allies are growing louder: That those who loathe the nation’s first African-American president, and especially those who would deny his citizenship, are driven at least in part by racism.
It’s a feeling that’s acutely felt among those supporters of Obama who are themselves minorities. Conversations with Democrats at an otherwise upbeat Democratic National Committee fall gathering here, an event largely devoted to party housekeeping, reflected a growing anger at what many see as a troubling effort to delegitimize Obama’s hold on the office.

too beautiful to keep it to myself
A little boy wanted to meet God.
He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his
suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of Root Beer and he
started his journey
When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man. He was
sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons.

Although I don't drink beer, there are those of us who are gluten free, and would love to drink "safe" beer. I found this, and I thought I'd share:

Celiacs Guide to Gluten Free Beer
Their battle cry might well be “Down with Reinheitsgebot!” – The German purity law of 1516, the oldest food regulation in the world designed to protect the consumer. By the 15th century, brewing had become a competitive industry in central Europe, one that held the promise of great financial gain for the most successful entrepreneurs.

#1 Home Remedy Frizzy Hair - Olive Oil
Very few of us are blessed with the full, shiny hair we see on shampoo commercials. Rather, to achieve this kind of hair, we have to work daily to maintain healthy follicles. The first of the home remedies for hair care is olive oil.

"'It is possible,' Gore Vidal once wrote, 'for any citizen with time to spare, and a canny eye, to work out what is actually going on, but for the many there is not time, and the network news is the only news even though it may not be news at all but only a series of flashing fictions.'
The barbecue media script for this election, a work of unabridged fiction and co-written by the modern Rove Republicans, has crow-barred Senator Obama into the incongruous frame of the exotic effete elitist, irrespective of the fact that, on all counts, he's absolutely none of those things. It's the same script that's been wheeled out during the last several presidential elections -- designed as a way of sculpting reality into a neatly packaged prime time dramatic narrative that both reinforces and exploits fear-based stereotypes.
